Sarah felt divided.
In the first hundred meters of pavement crossed she felt calm and flowing, like a ray of light suspended in equilibrium. Then the car hit a pothole and a mix of raw adrenaline roared through her entire being. She couldn’t even begin to imagine what happened this last hour, or recall what actually did. It was another moment in her life that had been so overwhelming that she simply could not grasp it immediately. It was another one of those moments that just had to sink in, but unlike many before this was not filled with anguish and torment; this was filled with nothing more than pure joy.
Anyone of the strangers sitting in the car around her could sense the delight; they could actually see it, surfacing as an ear to ear grin. Every muscle twitched, they were waiting to defend themselves, kill in combat and flee at the same time. Maybe they did, Sarah couldn’t recall what happened in the compound, and it must have been exciting.
The hollow skulls of the city lied far behind. Thankfully someone had planned a route that wasn’t blocked by debris and cars; maybe it was Nova or some other of the furs. (Maybe I should ask someone instead of keeping all questions to myself).

It had been a long time since Jave got a massage.
The inflexible swizz cheese that was the road made the car skip and leap, massaging his tender back with violent affection. “hehe… swizz cheese” Jave chuckled almost inaudibly. His tongue hanged loose, swaying back and forth in motion with the car, quite beautiful clockwork actually. His runny nose, dazed eyes and floppy limbs was reminiscent of a puppet hanging on a lonely string, all beautiful words that describe an embarrassing image.
Time passed, as it always does. Jave could feel his toes wiggle, first without his consent and at last in full motion. He struggled to move his fingers, they followed command far easier and with some effort Jave managed to wave leisurely to Katelyn.
