An RP as your Fursona potentially?

All right just wanna get this out of the way, Im not the best role player. Ive messed around on some Garrys Mod RP servers but thats not hardcore rp. sooooooooooooooo if you want to join you are going to have to pitch your ideas of what the rp would even be about but......you have to be your Fursona.

What kinda time and place are we thinking of? Present day? Future? Past? Urban, country, wasteland, undersea metropolis on a terraformed Mars?

I would either go for Medieval times or on another planet (space/future rp), where people are starting to terraform it.

Why thank you! I'm quite fond of writing sci-fi stories. My most recent unfinished project thingy was called Iridia, and took place on a planet called Catalyst. It originally starred humans, but I could always furrify it if other people here are down for that! 


Here's the first bit of the introduction, if anyone would like to read it. Just replace any mention of humans with furs. 


    Earth—Humanity’s home sweet home. For millennia, we lived on what she so generously provided. She gave us land on which to live; water to drink; food to eat. We built cities of the grandest scale on her crust, and achieved a level of technological superiority that no Earthly species would ever surpass. We also ravaged her surface with self-destructive wars, greedily tore through her resources and used them for our own gluttonous benefit, and generally repaid her kindness with a collective middle finger to her face.

            By the time we realized the true extent of our damage, our planet was already far beyond repair. And so it was that roughly halfway through the 21^st century, the human race left the green movement behind. Instead, we turned our attention to space travel. In an unprecedented group effort by most of the world’s major powers, the field of interplanetary travel was born, with the first humans settling and eventually terraforming Mars in 2164. So began Humanity’s expansion across our solar system.
           
2299—Earth is officially deemed unsuitable for human life.

            With a dead home planet, our only choice was to keep expanding. Shortly after the last ship left Earth in the early 24^th century, we were lucky enough to stumble upon a trio of Earth-like planets in the nearby Proxima system—the closest solar system to our now lifeless homeworld. The first two—Hope and Windsor—were quickly settled with little need for terraforming. The third, now known by the name of Catalyst, wasn’t so simple. It contained all the necessary resources for human life: water, livable terrain, etc. But its atmosphere was just out of range of breathability for humans. So its future inhabitants began yet another previously unheard-of project: to build the first solid atmospheric containment system around the planet.

            Completed in 2457, this colossal, transparent sphere—nicknamed the Shell by the planet’s citizens—held within it an atmosphere that was not only breathable, but also under complete human control. Levels of gases, water vapor, pollution, and the like were now constantly monitored, with the Shell’s vast network of climate-control systems keeping everything in near perfect equilibrium. It was after the completion of this artificial sky that Catalyst was finally settled.

            Iridia, the planet’s first city, began as a small mining colony; so named because of the massive Iridium deposit on which it was built. But by 2700, over 200 years after the city’s creation, it had become the largest and most developed population center in the system.

What does everyone think of Iridia, then? We can always do something completely different. I just wanted to describe the setting to see if anyone thought it was interesting.

Iridia sounds good to me too, except the meaning of this topic was to roleplay as your fursona, not as a human ^^
So anthropomorphic creatures instead of humans? Or are the anthros from the original planet(s)?
I prefer to go with the latter, that there were anthropomorphs on the other planets, able to live in those different condistions. The fact that there will be humans and anthropomorphs will create some kind of suspense,
or that is my opinion.

The story was originally written with humans, but I posted the idea here with the intention of replacing humans with anthros.

I'm good with either theme/genre, etc, but this is a good background story. So I'll stick with ShinibiFox on the idea

No problem. 


As far as the level of technology goes, blasters/laser weaponry has been developed, holoscreens are the norm, and there are flying vehicles (hovercrafts/skycars/etc) as well as land-based vehicles in use. However, it's not at the level of Star Trek, where furs can be "beamed up" and stuff. I'm probably leaving a bunch of technological details out, so if anyone wants to know if a certain piece of technology is in the world of Iridia, please ask me!

Hehe, thank you!    I was really serious about making it into a full-length story for a while, so I spent a good deal of time working out the finer details of how things worked.


Here's a short passage from the first chapter that might give you and idea of what the city and its culture are like:


   He and his friends sat at a circular, hovering table near the edge of a shady outdoor food court in one of Iridia’s numerous shopping centers. Larger than some of the city’s neighborhoods, these malls sat on huge, pedestrian-only platforms suspended thousands of feet above the ground amidst towering Iridian skyscrapers. Around the group’s table were various establishments selling everything from retro-style hotdogs, to nutrient-filled, heavily caffeinated shakes that could keep you fed and fully energized for an entire day—an expensive, but useful convenience in the city’s busy urban society.


As a city, Iridia differs from some of the other cities on Catalyst—and in the Proxima System, for that matter—in that its government is attempting to cut down on automated services like auto-piloted busses and taxis in order to create more jobs. This gives it a much more Earth-like feel, with many tasks being performed by furs rather than machines.
