Thank you both! I'm glad you like them. I'm happy I decided to give my facial expression a little more attitude, hehe. 
And Byracka, forest scenes are still nice! They often have a nice, liberating feel to them, I find. But as for depicting more ordinary events, I've had so many that I've wanted to do like that! I started on one a while back of two friends and I just walking to the parking garage at our university, but I ended up scrapping it because I couldn't get the proportions right. But I definitely plan on doing more drawings like that!

If you saw my announcement in the shoutbox, you know that I had a special surprise in store for somefur! Well, here it is! A portrait for Maine! I started this one on a whim, and it quickly evolved into the first of my drawings to actually have some kind of background!

That's cool how you put the words on the edge of what seems like a concrete structure as if they were carved in. And I like the use of the prop that she is holding. Very good drawing. One day you will will have the drawing skill of a GOD!

Nixon: "words?" You mean my signature and the date? And "prop?" You mean her camera?


Leaf: Thank you! One thing I've noticed about my style is that it tends to change depending on the gender of the fur I'm drawing. With males, as you can see in my avatar, I lean toward a more western style when it comes to drawing heads/faces. But with females, it seems, I go for more of an anime style... I'm not really sure why... Maybe because the anime style is cuter, and therefore better suited to female characters?


Byracka: *is pushed* I shall accept your challenge! Expect more backgrounds in future drawings!


Thrasher: I tried to make it as faithful/accurate a rendition of Maine as I possibly could, hehe. Hence the extreme levels of kawaii-ness.

Yes yes and yes. I'm not he best at back rounds or props.(I'm not that good at drawing body's.)

All you need is practice, Nixon. I was never good at drawing hands; they ALWAYS screwed up the whole drawing whenever I got to them. But now I'm finally getting better at it. Your skills will improve—you just need to take the time to hone them.

With that attitude, yes. Don't be afraid of the difficulty; embrace the challenge. And if you're worried about the time it'll take to get better, just think about it this way: that time is gonna pass by anyway, regardless of what you do with it. Why not use it on something creative?
