These lyrics from "Paranoid" by Black Sabbath mean something to me:

"Make a joke and I will sigh and you will laugh and I will cry,

Basically these lyrics described a period I was going through in my life about a year and a half ago where I felt quite alone in the world. I didn't think anyone cared. Boy was I wrong.

Here's a second set just to lighten the mood of my post:

These lyrics from "Holding On" by Dragonforce (From their new album) are sort of an inspiration...a motivator, if you will. This band and this song (these lyrics specifically) often drive me to strive to defeat any foes that stand in my way (and get through tough days).

For me, it's Watercolour. This song is one of the most empowering songs I have ever listened to. Certainly, its lyrics are relatively short, but man are they sweet. Everybody falls into dark places once in a while, and the song acknowledges that, but then it shifts and says "you can break free of it!" And that simple chorus with the rest of the lyrics... Yeah, I love this song and its meaning.
