The Morning Pulse - Interviews
« on: July 19, 2007, 05:31:48 PM »
Morning all!

Pulse here with the debut episode of The Morning Pulse where I will be conducting semi-regular interviews with members of Furry Forums and the furry_forum_chat.  This weeks exclusive interview was with weasle, a new yet entertaining fursonality on the IRC.  I hope you enjoy.

Nick: weasle
Alternate Nicks: Wes, Wesley
Location: the forest
Sex: male
Age: 16

* Pulse sets up the interview table, lays open a box of doughnuts, and waits for the weasle to show up.
* weasle runs and jumps onto table, smiles
[Pulse] Morning!
[weasle] morning?!!!!!
[Pulse] Well, yes of course.
[Pulse] Please, have some doughnuts.
* weasle slowly reaches for one and nibbles on it, sittin down
[Pulse] So Wesley, do you mind if I call you Wesley?
* weasle laughs a lil and shakes head
[Pulse] No? Fine, Wesley, you've been around the IRC for just under a week, yet your friendliness and exuberance has already won you the title of Official IRC Greeter. How does this make you feel?
* weasle grins happily
[Pulse] Is that all? Nothing to say?
[weasle] i feel honored!! ive never had ppl be so nice
[Pulse] Well kindness returns kindness, and few others are as care-free as you.
[Pulse] So tell me a bit about yourself.
[Pulse] From where do you hail?
[weasle] the forest
[Pulse] How informative, and what originally brought you to the Furry Forums?
* weasle tilts head
[Pulse] How did you find out about us?
[weasle] o, a while back i meet a furry who told me of this, i didnt get a chance till last week, im glad i did
[Pulse] We're glad you did too.
* weasle smiles and blushes a lil
[weasle] aww, stop it, lol
[Pulse] I've noticed that you love to eat, raiding picknick tables and chasing after popcorn.
[Pulse] Do you have any other interests or hobbies?
* weasle thinks hard
[weasle] idk, i like to do everything
[Pulse] Everything?
[weasle] well things that are fun to do
[weasle] o! i like to play games!!
[Pulse] Board games? Card games? Role playing?
[weasle] wat r board and card games, i like to run and jump around
[Pulse] Fair enough.
[Pulse] Okay, I've got a question from the audience.
[weasle] ok...
[Pulse] WolfPuppy from the UK asks, "Do you love me?" Do you have anything to say to that?
* weasle tilts head

At this point our connection was cut off, and a future conclusion to the interview was lost due to technical difficulties.
* sighs *

Next week I will be interviewing the infamous Maxis29, the founder of Furry Forums.  If you have any questions you would like for me to ask Maxis29, please post them here.  And as always, any feedback is appreciated.  Until then, night all!

Pulse signing off.

Morning and welcome back folks to the Morning Pulse!  I'm your host, DJ Pulse, and wow do I have a great interview for you today!  Joining us in the studio is Maxis29, Pro-Developer for IMVU, estranged uncle to many a furry, and founder and brave leader of the Furry Forums.  So without further ado, here is the fox of the hour.

Nick: Maxis29
Alternate Nicks: Max, Max29
Location: Texas
Sex: male
Age: 18

* Pulse sets up the interview table and gets out a gas mask and an electric trout just in case.
[Pulse] Morning Max, and thank you for taking the time out of your busy schedule to talk with us today.
[Maxis29] you dont have msn? :O
[Pulse] No, sorry.
[Maxis29] Has it started recording yet? >.>
[Pulse] Yep!
[Pulse] Anything you say can and will be held against you.
[Maxis29] ack
[Maxis29] erase the last thing i said wont you? >.>
[Maxis29] <.<
[Maxis29] >.>
[Maxis29] Lovely morning we have here dont we?
[Pulse] I'd like to start with a few questions about your developing and then move on to more intersting topics.
[Maxis29] Fire away. Dont mind me while i eat meh soup.
[Pulse] So first off, have you taken any classes to develop your computer graphic skills or are you self-taught?
[Maxis29] (giggle) Nope, entirely self taught.
[Pulse] Impressive nonetheless. Do you plan on developing this into a career of some sort then despite no formal instruction?
[Maxis29] not a carreer so much as something i could do to make monies
[Maxis29] and have fun expressing my creativity
[Pulse] In that case, what do you believe are your ambitions for the future?
[Maxis29] make more monies $-D
[Pulse] Of course. X3
[Maxis29] I also want to expand myself further
[Pulse] How so?
[Maxis29] well ive become adept at photoshop, but im still teaching myself many of the other programs used for creating content
[Maxis29] flash, dreramweaver, 3ds max, illustrator to name a few rigth off the top of my head
[Pulse] So sticking with the artistic side of things.
[Pulse] I see.
[Pulse] A lot of IMVU users and developers alike look up to you. What advice do you have for aspiring developers?
[Maxis29] All kidding aside,  they should always focus on their catalog pics. They can have a awsome product and description for it but if they have a poopy catalog icon, no ones going to click. Choosing a name is also always very important
[Pulse] You're absolutely right there.
[Pulse] Let's get on to the question that everyone is dying to hear you answer.
[Pulse] What is the story behind why you decided to create the Furry Forums?
[Maxis29] one word: Community
[Maxis29] I used to see little groups of furrys here and there on imvu, sometimes furrys would come along and would think they where the only ones there
[Maxis29] and i thought to myself there has to be someway to unite all these furrys, a way to give them a home and someplace where they could hang out with other furrys
[Maxis29] it was then that i camee up with the idea for the furry forums
[Maxis29] being a pro dev, i had several advantages
[Maxis29] I could link shoutouts to outside sites was the main one
[Maxis29] i also had my name
[Maxis29] which i know doesnt envokethe vision of furrieness that razi;'s does, but its known nonetheless
[Pulse] heheh
[Pulse] A very ambitious dream, but it all came together. Were there any troubles in the beginning though?
[Maxis29] In the beginging, most people might not remember this but our URL was catsinclothing.com
[Maxis29] xD
[Pulse] I had no idea. O.O
[Maxis29] yep
[Maxis29] xD
[Maxis29] I already had domain hosting with yahoo.com back then so i decided to use it
[Maxis29] it was a mess in the begining as all things are, but with the help of several people the forums have transformed into what you see today
[Pulse] I've heard that Razi was key in those days. Anyone else you'd care to mention?
[Maxis29] id rather not mention anyone lest some irc drama makes what i say outdated
[Maxis29] >.>
[Maxis29] <.<
[Maxis29] i mean, nu comment
[Maxis29] XD
[Maxis29] But yes, razi was essential not only for the furryness her name envokes but also as a friend
[Pulse] Very well then, though I will get you to talk about one furry. Tell me a bit about PrincessWilly. He's your mate, right? How did the two of you meet, and what brought you together?
[Maxis29] *murrs*
[Maxis29] He came before the forums actually xD He just skittered across my homepage and was in my visitors box
[Maxis29] i thought his avi pic looked cute so i imed him x3
[Maxis29] that was back in meh wild single days
[Maxis29] I kept tilling him how cute his eyes looked when they blinked xD
[Maxis29] we grew close quickly x3 and weve been through some rough patches like every relationship, but unlike other people, when we hit a rough patch we didnt seperatelike most people do, we talked it out and worked things out
[Maxis29] So we will have been together a year this august
[Pulse] That's absolutely wonderful. Ain't love beautiful folks?
[Maxis29] and i will finally be meeting him in rl xD
[Maxis29] yes it is pulse
[Maxis29] (giggle)
[Pulse] Okay, other than your mate PrincessWilly and your sister Razi, you don't seem to have any FF family. Is there some reason you haven't adopted any offspring?
[Maxis29] They multiple like rabbits pulse, before i know it i would be called great grandpa xD
[Maxis29] that and willy doesnt get on the irc enough to justify it
[Maxis29] xD
[Pulse] Razi may be wishing she had seen things your way now. X3
[Maxis29] hehe
[Maxis29] she stopped countting them after the fifth generation i think
[Pulse] So what do you see as being the future of Furry Forums?
[Maxis29] she stopped countting them after the fifth generation i think
[Maxis29] well once someone makes the api we will be selling rare and limited edition items that can be bought via paypal
[Maxis29] thats the main concern we have
[Pulse] api?
[Maxis29] application programming interface
[Maxis29] it would let people buy imvu products via our site and would deliver it to their username
[Pulse] Storefront.
[Maxis29] pretty much
[Pulse] What about the FF Radio? Do you see it ever becoming a reality?
[Maxis29] probably not
[Maxis29] even when we did get it working that one time, we didnt have enough people listening to really keep it going
[Pulse] That's unfortunate.
[Maxis29] and who told you bout that? >.>
[Maxis29] <.<
[Pulse] Oh, there were still a few links around when I first signed on.
[Pulse] Looks like my show will be forever fated to remain in the form of threads. >.<
[Maxis29] donateeeeee
[Pulse] Good advice for everyfur who reads this.
[Pulse] Oh well, now for the completely random question.
[Pulse] What is your greatest fear?
[Maxis29] small hands
[Maxis29] small hands scare me so :P
[Maxis29] along with the usual fears
[Maxis29] xD
[Pulse] I suppose I should have expected a completely random answer. ^.^
[Pulse] Before we sign off, do you have anything else you'd like to say to all the listeners?
[Maxis29] Donate, post, and behave in irc :P
[Maxis29] you ever consider a podcast?
[Maxis29] :O
[Maxis29] we might be willingz to rebirth the podcast idea :O
[Pulse] I'd certainly consider it, but that's a conversation for another time.
[Maxis29] though the interview was overz >.>
[Maxis29] <.<
[Pulse] Well thank you very much for joining us Maxis.
[Pulse] It's been a pleasure.
[Maxis29] Toodle loo
* Maxis29 steals all the donuts on his way out
[Pulse] heheh

Hmm, that was a bit longer than I expected.  I guess we just got a bit carried away.  Oh well.  ^.^
Next week our guest will be the beloved mother of the largest family here on the Furry Forums, the beautiful Razi.  Have questions you'd like to ask Razi?  Please post them here before Sunday.  Any other comments you may have are also welcome.  Until then, night all!

Pulse signing off.

Morning and welcome to the late edition of the Morning Pulse!  DJ Pulse here apologizing for the tardiness of this week's update, but who can really keep track of time when it's always morning?  This week we have Pro Developer razi here in the studio with us.  We all know and love her work and her company, and here she is, the beautiful razi!

Nick: razi
Location: Texas
Sex: female
Age: 35

* Pulse clears off the interview table, lays out some catnip and a ball of yarn, and waits for razi to arrive.
* razi collapes in a heap dramatically like she's been real busy and overworked
[Pulse] Morning nana! ...er razi!
[Pulse] What should I be calling you anyway?
[razi] whatever ^^ razi would be less confusing
[Pulse] Ah. Which reminds me, what is with the lowercase name? Are you trying to make a statement?
[razi] just say it's symbolic of my core being and leave it at that
[Pulse] I had no idea there was that much behind it. I respect that.
[Pulse] So tell me a bit about yourself, your career actually. How similar is it to developing for IMVU?
[razi] not at all
[razi] my rl work is all letterheads and business cards, all 2-D
[razi] working in IMVU, i'm more artistic, and my approach is more painterly
[razi] i'm more about layout at work, more about art at IMVU
[Pulse] I see. I hope you enjoy your work nonetheless.
[razi] it's better than cooking, which is what i did for several years before going to college
[razi] i didn't want to cook for a living my entire life
[Pulse] Heheh.
[Pulse] Moving on, you're a celebrity on IMVU with furries everywhere looking up to you. How do you keep the fame from going to your head?
[razi] well it's not such a big secret, but it's not widely known that i knew nothing of furries before imvu... this is my first exposure to furries, really, and I made skins for months and even went pro before ever calling myself furry
[razi] so i'm a bit overwhelmed with the realization and discovery of my fursona to be bothered with internet fame :P which doesn't amount to anything outside of IMVU
[Pulse] That's amazing.
[razi] i've enjoyed internet fame before with my kylyria.net site, it's 7 years old now
[Pulse] Tell me about that.
[razi] i made desktop themes back when they were a really hot item, and even though i haven't touched my site in *coughs* 2 years *coughs* I still get 200 unique hits a day and I'm still in the top 50 downloaded theme authors according to my file host, EZthemes
[razi] that amounts to a $30 check a month, unless I've sold some subscriptions to keep out the adware
[razi] xD
[Pulse] Very cool.
[razi] yesh, XP kinda ruined my fun with the themes
[razi] made it too difficult
[Pulse] Well, at least you're still updating here.
[Pulse] Which I see that your two latest items are already selling very hot.
[Pulse] I know I already bought one for my pet. ^.^
[razi] ahh yes the toxic and hellfire tabbies
[razi] hellfire line items always sell well, it's the blood red on black
[razi] and i've noticed the popularity of the toxic products has stayed strong, so i decided I'd throw out my own toxic product because it seemed like a fun idea
[razi] i think it became popular back when Tagyourepregnant was still actively deving, he was the first to release toxic products
[Pulse] As a pro dev, I'm sure you get tons of requests, and the popularity of your products is evidence of this. Do you have a request yourself for other devs?
[razi] oh yes all the time
[razi] Lollirot is one of my favorites, and I'm always requesting things from Nik, I've made requests of many others in the past
[razi] Lollirot is usually to get her to make her murder haircolor in a certian style xD
[razi] I think the most important requests I ever made were for a lot of WaltzingMouse's furry accessories to be set to derivable
[Pulse] You consider yourself as the mother of the largest furry family here in the IRC, right?
[razi] of course, they can't get rid of me that easily :P
[Pulse] What is it like having so many descendants?
[razi] shocking
[razi] i hid the family on my page because i was being overwhelmed with distant relatives leaving messages xD
[Pulse] Do you really think Talderon knows what he's getting into becoming the patriarch?
[razi] haha he's only had two adopt him so far :P
[razi] theres
[razi] oops
[razi] there's seven more to go
[Pulse] Heheh.
[Pulse] Well, thank you so much for coming here to chat. I really appreciate it. :3
[razi] not a prob ^^

Short, sweet, and to the point, but what can I say?  Our special guest next week will be Talderon, famed inventor of the Electric Trout.  Who is this strange furry, and how is he slowly taking over the furry family?  Tune in next week and find out!

End transmission.
...and everything under the sun is in tune...
