Favorite Words of Wisdom?

Do any of you have any interesting or commonly used words of wisdom that have any sort of meaning to you? Why are they helpful to you (or in general)? Where or from who did you hear these words of wisdom?

E.g.: My mom always says to me "If you don't remember something it probably wasn't important enough to remember." And it's sort of true for me because most useless information that I don't feel I'll wind up needing in life I tend to forget about x3.

  I grew up hearing a lot of quotes as a kid from my gandfather, which to this day I still use.

but one ecspecially was from a video game, and most will agree with me on this, In Dead Space 3 when you get to the heart of the planet, Issac Clarke said, "Good men mean well, they just don't always do well."

A quote I took pretty close to heart, and basically it is **censor** true. We may try to live a life without problems and do our best to do the right things, but like it or not things will get bad and most of the time we can't stop it, but just gotta keep at it no matter what.
