Ancient civilisations we know little about
« on: September 03, 2013, 08:36:41 AM »
i was watching this amazing documentary about lost civilisation's that get very little media attention and i was shocked by how much attention some of them deserve..

one of these are the chachapoya's who I find amazing because they had no Hierachy whatsoever and an almost equal existence (evreyone has the same size and shape home) yet they were also very capable of building and reinforcing forts and defending them.

Here's an image of a fort they created that looks almost looks like a cliff of bricks called Kuelap

even the tombs containing there mummified remains Are equally designed and sized (equally cute too  X3 )

(an artists impression of what they looked like when first made)

Does anyone else know civilisations that deserve more attention than they get? i would like to know.

Generally there is a high degree of equality in hunter-gatherer societies. Granted, this is more of an agrarian society, but the equality in those is still pretty high. It's not until you start getting ideas of property rights and the ability to pass down possessions from one generation to the next that inequality starts to manifest.
