There's a cosmic ray (possibly a proton) that was observed in Utah, it is known as the "Oh-My-God particle". The reason it's called that is because of the severe amount of energy, it has (10²⁰ eV) roughly 50 Joules of energy, that's about as much as a baseball moving at 100km/h, DONE BY A SINGLE PROTON. To put this in perspective, if a 1 kg object was moving as fast as this proton, it would have enough energy to completely destroy the moon, it would be the equivalent of 1,000,000 magnitude 9.1 earthquakes, more energy than the entire human race has used in 2011, 100,000,000 times over.

I guess because it is corrosive or something.

CFL light bulbs and only go in fixtures where the glass spiral goes up.
Otherwise the electronics are prone to overheat and fail, potentially causing a fire.
Really this should not happen, however most of them are made of counterfeit parts.

I'm just putting in perspective, the actual energy was only 50 joules, but that's coming from a sub-atomic particle, whose mass is extremely small! So when you convert it to a 1kg particle, moving at the same speed,BOMB it becomes much more.

The budget of paranormal activity was a mere $15,000. It ended up making around $200,000,000 in the box office.

Did you know that having cold drinks with a hot meal is actually bad?

When you drink something cold (i.e. water or soda, etc) it solidifies the fats and oils that you take in, which in turn end up absorbed by your intestines and become fat cells, flab, and in rare cases can end up developing into cancer.

Drinking something warm/hot with your meal will actually help your body absorb the correct nutrients and expel the other stuff, keeping oils and fats traveling through your system so they don't get absorbed. As a bonus, it'll be easier to take a dump.

I'm sure many of you have heard the age old tale of NASA spending millions of dollars to produce a pressurized pen that will write in space, as normal ones won't write in zero gravity.


And you've probably said, "why don't they just use a pencil?" Which you thing would be the most simple option.
But actually not! Pencil leads are made of graphite, which is a highly conductive material. The risk is that graphite particles can find their way into all sorts of hardware on board, and cause fires.
