Finally got around to taking a few pics of some of my own knives today!

This here is Quatrain, my neck knife style kiridashi from Austin, Texas's very own Angel Fire Knives. :D

And this is my Plain-edged Kershaw Tremor, which I've tentatively named Sonnet (going with the poetry motif; although I may just call it Tremor, since that also sounds cool).

Just a size comparison. :3

It's a neck knife, so it has a little kydex sheath that hangs from a paracord necklace. :)

They're quite common, actually! I'll take a picture of me wearing it next chance I get. ^_^ It was cool, one time I went into the shop wearing it, and the bladesmith's wife, Marie, saw it around my neck. She was genuinely touched that I was wearing and using it!

Just got this one for a friend for his birthday! Photos were taken by him, so don't blame the poor image quality on me. :P

I was at the shop the other day and saw this same knife for around $60 in the same color and black and grey, how much did you pay out Nobi? I was going to grab it but figured I check around elsewhere first :P

I was able to get it online for about $47 (not including shipping) on knifecenter.com. That might be the best way to go.

I finally got around to getting most of my collection together today for a group photo. :D

From top to bottom: Quatrain, my kiridashi, which you've seen before. This time I wanted to include the kydex sheath and paracord so you could see what they look like.

Next, there's my unnamed Ken Onion Kershaw Leek. It's a stylish and minimalistic assisted-opening folder; super snappy when you open it, and because of the smooth steel handles, it slips in and out of pockets really easily. If you're looking for a very subtle, elegant, light-duty EDC, I highly recommend it. ^_^

Under that we have Sonnet/Tremor, my plain-edged Kershaw Tremor which you've also seen before. By far my heaviest EDC, this one flies open pretty quickly, especially for a blade of its size. The only thing I wish it had were thumb studs, rather than just the flipper. But I really can't complain too much; it's got nice grippy G10 scales and a sturdy build all around, plus I love the gentle recurve of the blade.

And then we have my defensive carry, the SOG SEAL Pup Elite. From what I've read, this is basically a smaller version of the knife used by the US Navy SEALs. The grip has tons of little diamond-shaped... well, grippies, so it stays in the hand quite well. I do wish it had the same grippies on the front and back, as well, rather than just the sides. But it still works. I added a little paracord wrist loopy thingy to the base of the hilt to help keep it from falling out of my hand if I ever need to use it for self defense. After some experimentation, I even found that I could very quickly switch from regular grip to reverse grip just by spinning it around my hand with the wrist loop on. :D It has quite the nifty sheath, too. A hard plastic (possibly kydex) insert, as well as a little pocket in which you can store a small whetstone. Instead of a stone, though, I keep a folded-up copy of Texas Penal Code 46, which defines what an illegal knife is. The reason I have this is just in case anyone sees me with the knife and stops me about it. It's a rather large blade, after all, so I can see why it would arouse some suspicion. Nevertheless, it's perfectly legal to carry here in Texas, so I keep it right there with the knife so I can prove it.

And of course I had to do the thing where you stick them in the table. XD

VG-10 and s30v seem to be the best steels out there for making knife blades.
Both VG-10 and s30v are really good knife steels, but the best? It depends, 1095 carbon steel is much tougher, better at edge retention and easyer to resharpen, but since its carbon steel it rusts easy. But for general aplications, stainless are just fine, but if you need a bushcraft or any other hard use stuff beast, carbon steel is the steel for you. And I should not forget D2, its basicly stainless carbon steel. Sounds like a knife entusiasts wet dream, but its more of a middle ground between stainless and carbon steel. It`s tougher than stainless, but not as tough as carbon steel. It`s rust resistant, but not as much as other stainless steels.
Just throwing in my two cents  ^_^

And by the way, is Cold Steel SRK (Search and Rescue Knife) a rip off from Fallkniven A1? Or is it the other way around? (Cold Steel is probaly the ripoff tough, but they are a great brand  :P )

The guy that made Quatrain frequently uses 1095, so I'm fairly certain that's what it's made of. I've used it lightly for quite some time (light use is what it's made for, of course), and it's held up very well. :)

And yes, I'd wager that the Cold Steel one is the knockoff, especially since the Fällkniven looks VERY pricey. OwO

I really like knives, though i only figured my swiss army knife is enough. I really , just, modified it and sharpened it enough that it no longer folds, it is near double the size, and has alot more mass. You people, all of you, have prettier ones than me.
