What do you like about furrys?

Since I'm listening to a furry rave right now... I decided to make a topic exactly like the "furry" topic I posted, except less confusing... So why do you like furrys and what is your main fursona? B)

I like furries because anthro art has always interested me. The fandom also gives me an opportunity to escape life for a bit and pretend to be a coyote online. I don't find life satisfying enough so I sometimes enjoy living vicariously through a fictional one. Don't hate, there's a lot going on.

My main fursona is a coyote who has little special about him and a staggering resemblance to Wiley Coyote. He frames most of my real life attributes and attitude, though slightly cut back and loves to socialize.

I love being able to act natural without idiots getting mad. That's always nice in my opinion.

What I like about being a furry is the individuality that come with it. No two furries are alike. All of them have their own little perk that makes them who they are, and they aren't afraid to show it! It seems that every furry I see on this forum is always so nice.

The big thing is that you can express an opinion and not be verbally crucified.

I love this fandom and the friends that come with it. Even if I do just lurk and be antisocial sometimes....well, a lot of the time...

Showing myself off as a furry is much easier. With a fursona, I can toss in all of my best or desired traits in, or I can get to know other people better through common ground.

Furriness is a big creative outlet for me, not to mention getting the chance to meet lots of like minded people!
Also that the fandom is specific to any demographic, so you meet furs from all walk of life.
Furries represent to me that imagination is not dead. That there are still people out there who create their own characters, and live by them. I think that's an incredible powerful thing; being able to form ones self.
Not mention it's fun as heck! XD

Furries are great man. :3

I love the symbolism and meaning people put behind choosing different animals for their Fursonas, as well as how excited they are to draw their very own, personal, one of a kind alternate version of themselves 8D!

Being a furry, as I find, does let you get in touch with a side of yourself that you know exists, but as a 'normal' person, you don't normally exhibit? Does this mean you should necessarily go out and do this?

Perhaps not (but in the end, it's up to you) XD, but all in all, the very fact that people are willing to take risks by exposing traits of their own, or that of which they wish they had in their fursona helps solidify how comfortable we are with each other, as well as accepting we can be as a fandom :3. And that is something I do truly love.

I like a lot of things about furries. I like how it feels almost like a family, atleast a very tight community. Everyone is nice and welcoming, and because of the diversity in the fandom people are very accepting and understanding within the fandom. Before I found the fandom I knew I was a furry (although had no idea it had a name, I just thought I was crazy), and then when I found it I knew I had peers friends family.

I only have one fursona right now, and plan to keep it that way, although knowing myself that'll change in no time. Kona Akiura is an undecided animal, he was a fox, but I'm leaning more toward husky or even wolf now. His colors have changed a lot too. THe only thing that remains the same is hid personality and that if on my "hello ~ reakky" post, another post somewhere else, and my profile!
