Well, as poetry goes it's complete doggerel, but I do think some of the ideas are good.


And anyway, I LIKE doggerel!

Go, find love, be happy!
Hold her tight, dance and laugh!
Shout out your love
Tell the whole world, not just by half
Don't let her wonder
In your heart she's your wife
Build up her hopes
Then bring them to life
Be like a rock, reliable and strong
But be soft too, a pillow to fall on

Don't call her chook
Don't forget I love you
And don't make me look

Um, since this last post I estimate I've received about 90 views.  So a big thank you to whoever's watching!

I was having a think and feel like I understand something better today than I did yesterday.  I didn't realise and then write a poem about it, I just started writing and had an epiphany as I wrote.  So if it changes tense or perspective part way, don't wish I'd done a redraft because this is the record of my thought process.



What you think you know
What you think you see
It’s not the whole story
It’s neither him nor me
Therefore when I say
That I still love him so
Don’t think that I’m crazy
Of course, I might be though
I just want that person
That when I reach out
Is there when I need
To ease my pout
To stroke my brow
And kiss my hair
Say “bed time silly fox”
And lead me there
I know it’s selfish
To expect such doting
At all hours of the day
When such devoting
Of time, in fact, is
Really waiting
Just the sort of thing
Which I would find grating
Something which must
Already be
Part of the routine
Of “The One” for me
But danger exists
In fact it’s inherent
When you’re watching and waiting
No one is inerrant
And while you wait
You are bound to see
Some other person
In need of a devotee
If only the two
Who needed your care
Could arrange schedules
Like some time-share
Maybe that’s the lure
Where it starts to go wrong
