Hello everyone from a new Furry

I am new to this whole furry thing. I found multiple forums and eventually picked this one  :D . I currently do not have a fursona. I was wondering if someone could give me some tips to helping me create my fursona.I mainly need help picking my species. How do I go about picking my species there are so many.

My advice,
(from a new furry)
Pick an animal you like, but also one that represents you.
I have not done recherch what the different species "mean" but i do not think it really matters.
I based my Fursona on a stuffed dog i had, well actually i based it on him if he were to become "human" but then i realized that he/it embraces the values and traits i wanted to have.
Funny thing is, or not, i was a furry long before i knew it i was just sad and made friends with a stuffed dog i had and it went from there.
sorry, i'm not sure this was helpful but i tried.

Hi and welcome to the fandom ^^

Your fursona could be anything! Your favourite animal, some animal you think "represents" you... If you have a really hard time deciding you could for example try and google for an animal personality test and see what you get :3

In my case my fursona started as a separate character because I wasn't a furry at the time, but once I decided to join the fandom completely it had kinda grown with me so much that I "became" it ^-^
But I also have another fursona who isn't a feral or a wolf, because there's no rule saying you can only have one :3
Some people prefer to stick to one main, some might have several fursonas and some tend to change their fursona completely every now and then, maybe because they feel like they've "outgrown" that character ^^ It's in no way a definitive choice if you don't get it right on the first try ^^

Thank you for your help. I am currently caught between two animals. Beaver and Hamster. Just thinking about which one represents me more  :D .

Hmm... They are already pretty similar so it's not all that easy, yes... I guess a beaver colored like a hamster could already be something. I have seen a chipmunk-tiger combination once where it was basically a chipmunk with tiger stripes ^^
