You're right about the Benelli. My dad had a Remington 870, and at the time(around '02) shells were expensive for some good ones. Also, some people use their .22's for competition shooting, so I could see where you'd put accessories on it. Really it comes down to what you want, and with rails you can get accessories for the ISSC, then put it on something else if you decide to/ have gotten something else with rails. B)  Also, what ammo are you using with it? I ran Federal .22's through my Savage M1.22 and never jammed, even with CCI. You may need to just add a bit more grease to the feeding mechanism (forgot the technical term, but I think you understand what I'm poorly trying to say, right?). If that's not the problem, it may be that you would need to get an aftermarket magazine (if they have 'em) or find a way to upgrade the mag's spring. The mag could be the problem. Just my thoughts. :D

I'm currently using Winchester Super X and Winchester M22, which aren't bad, but NO WHERE near as bad as a bucket of Remington .22 hollowpoints. The bullets would spin on the brass casings before you even loaded them into your gun. I haven't seen anything like it before xD half the time they're bent and misfire. I used to use Federal and CCI but only as trials for new ammo and they worked perfect. No jams, no misfires, no bent casings. I only don't like having to buy 50 - 100 of them at a time.

I GREASE UP MY GUN LIKE NO ONE'S BUSINESS and even then it'll have a feeding issue because the bullets aren't angled properly within the magazines. I always end up digging them out with a knife or give up and use a different magazine. None of the mags are aftermarket because it only fits magazines made by ISSC which cost around $50 each :( Even with a Ruger 10/22, it had the same trouble with the same ammo. Winchester just isn't good to use I'm assuming, or the spring like you said, but I have a feeling that if expensive ammo works, it's not the gun.

I know them feels. The M1.22 I had only had one mag. It had the same problem, no aftermarket, and expensive spares (that and it was made around the 1980's). You know, if I could own any gun I wanted, I would definitely own an M2 Browning (assuming the gun and ammo were free. I can dream right?), or a M14 EBR.

I think if a M2 Browning wasn't impossible to accuire and .50 caliber bullets weren't $12 each, I think everyone would have one xD

My local gunshop is currently selling a Norinco M14 in synthetic black for around $500 and is chambered in 7.62x51 :P Perhaps you might be able to get your paws on one of those? I hear Americans have a bit of a struggle with buying Chinese and Russian made weapons for decent prices, there just aren't any around in the US. I feel like if you do find one, it might be a bit pricier.

In the states, it would be easier to get a Springfield M1A. Most Russian guns (probably all) are surplus as well, but we have a lot of guns around. Especially in my state. Full auto is allowed (with proper registration and whatnot). The gun shows I go to, I usually see FN SCAR's, F2000's, Saiga 12 w/drum, RPK's and even a Mauser C96.

I just had an idea. Usually, U.S. Soldiers tap the feeding side and/or bottom of the mag on their helmet to correct such a problem (the bullets can get Caught on the sides of the mag due to the loading of the mag. Sorry, not the best at explaining things!). Did you ever try something like that? Just a thought. Might not even help at all. Anyway, I enjoy having another fur to talk about firearms with. Just a cool aspect of the fandom. :D

Im soooooo jelly there's places you can live and own fully automatic weapons. Where I live is extremely limited on gun shows (we might have a small one like once a year) and most of the guns are soft or ancient. There's some full autos on display from the old timers who were around before the firearms reform who like to show them off (because they're now only permitted to collect dust in their houses). But our gun shops will still sell you a prohibited weapon with the proper documentation. The majority of my firearms are semi-automatics :/ except for my shotguns.

We even have a magazine capacity of no more than 5 rounds in a clip for rifles and no more than 10 pistol caliber rounds per magazine. Even my SKS is pinned to 5 rounds with some ugly metal pin that my government has fastened to the inside before mixing my magazine up with another because the numbers don't match up with the gun. The top of my mag spring looks like a "T" instead of an "--" it literally keeps me from putting more bullets than I would like into my weapon. WHY? Because my government's rationale is that responsible gun owners who decide to be stupid with their guns will kill LESS people with LESS bullets in their magazines. If a person isn't going to follow a law in the first place, why would they use LEGAL magazines to commit ILLEGAL acts? The whole law is just stupid in my opinion. I want to fire an infinite amount of ammo from the end of my guns, why should law abiding citizens be restricted to 5? I don't like the idea of ruining target sports for others because of people's own stupidity.

Anyway, enough ranting. I really like the first generations of M1As when they were made from solid wood. They're almost impossible to come by up here and if you do find one, it's like buying antiques for antique prices. Nobody buys antiques, dude, so shops don't carry any :( it's like no demand means no access.

I also don't wear a helmet when I go to the range so I haven't thought of tapping a magazine on my head :P I do see it a lot in movies and it looks like something that might work against a ledge so I'll try that next time :) Thanks for the idea.

I'm also happy I've got someone to talk to as well. I love seeing what others can bring to the discussion table. Opinions, questions, photos, and reviews are all welcome :)

I pretty much agree with all of this, but I still don't find anything (aside from submachine guns) as satisfying as a revolver. The weight, double-action option, and "always" prepared loading system (no spring problems from sitting for a long period of time). Also a nice sound effect :P

Oh, I love revolvers. My mom had a .38 special S&W, and I've shot plenty of .22 models. Sadly, nothing larger (in a revolver) than .38. I don't know the joys of the.44 and.357 magnums. :(
Also with the helmet idea, you could just do as you said, and knock it in a similar surface. My father explained that to me. I trust his opinion because he did it with M14's in the Navy. Also, the M14's in the states (that I'VE seen so far) typically have wood stocks, and 20 round Magazines. 10 round mags are available as well. They also host machine gun shoots in Nevada yearly. Anything from Maxim's, MG-42's, M2's, and I think, now I could be wrong, I saw a M134D minigun.

Don to know the feeling of not owning one. Don't get me wrong, I loved mi semi auto S&W 5946, but I would loved to have had a colt peacemaker as well.

So I got into a fight with my ex girlfriend last week. Nothing makes me feel better than impulsively spending money that I don't have and shooting guns. So I was my shooting range and I impulsively spend $600 on that Norinco M14 the same day. >__> I totally told myself I wasn't going to buy it and I did.

I couldn't afford bullets for it, so it's just for looking at right now, which I enjoy doing VERY much. It's a .308 and 7.62x51 compatible and comes with a sling, 2 20-round box magazines (pinned to 5 rounds to be legally used here), and this sweet cleaning kit that fits in the stock. I plan on buying some bulk ammo only because it's the best deal. Those Russians really know a good bargain when it comes to war materials. Even though I'll only shoot it a few times because of the cost of ammo, paying $45 for a box of 20 rounds doesn't seem feasible to me but paying $260 for 500 rounds seems better.

I've attached some pics, this one in the pics isn't mine (but it is) in every way the same as the one I'm holding.

Where do you live? In south Louisiana, you can buy "bricks" of 50rounds of federal .22's for under $20.
