The feline wandered through a door, and soon found himself staring at the open roof, the rays of purest moonlight falling on the reflecting walls of the chamber and gathering at it's core. At the chamber's core a throne stood, made of blood red ruby. On top of that throne he rested his body, still thinking as the moon's light fell over him, wrapping him in it's loving embrace.
Slowly on the feline's paws started to pulse with a crimson glow, the sign that the transfer of lifeforce had begun. He knew that in years the halls hunger would kill him, but for now it would be sufficient.
The halls fed upon the essence of the feline's soul, and on the souls that he gathered using whispered life. Each soul that he obtained allowed the feline to retain his own, though as time grew and passed the halls had been taking more and more from him.
For now he rested, on his lips the name of the one that he loved with his very life, the name of she that had passed away. ".....Annika..."
(Fictional name by the way.)
