The giant let down his duffle-bag, placing it in a fallen and hollow log close to him in order to hide it. Night was good. He let the cool gentle breeze lick his face for a moment before... the darkness was his friend and told him much. The faint smell of a dim fire was not too far, and was actually t the edge of the woods with him, though apparently, not exactly where he was. His dark eyes and slit pupils looked through the dark, but could see nothing. Yet he listened, and heard faint voices. He could see well in the dark, and not only that, but he was beginning to pick up a faint detection of the electromagnetism generated by the biological components of living things. This was his gift, the gift of a predator. The gift of lighting the darkness in such a way, only he could perceive. He was close, very close. They did not seem to be moving, or at least, not moving very much, as he could not feel any much vibration in the ground, none strong enough to reach his feet. The apex neared, and found himself a distance away not too far. He climbed up tall tree with the use of his claws and tail, and using his keen sight, saw through the darkness to see the dim glow of ember, and those near it.....
