"Here sweetie," she lay down Romor's filled food bowl on the ground for him, and he tucked in greatfully.
She walked out onto the balcony, clutching her cold arms. It had been two weeks since she moved to the city, yet Natasha still didn't feel like she has settled in. It was too different to her orginal home out on the coast, so quiet and peaceful. The hustle and bustle of city life was not for her, nothing like she though it would be.
She came back in and picked up yesterdays newspaper, looking down at the red circled job offers. When she was younger, her only job was to help her father with the fishing, but now she knew that she needed a serious job, her parents could only help her with the rent of her flat for so long.
Romor came over, and brushed round Natashas' ankles, purring. He was her only company, all her friends were still at the coast, and could rarely visit. She picked Romor up, and he purred even more, cuddling in to her. She took him outside onto the balcony again, and she breathed in the polluted air, coughing slightly.
Romor began to hiss suddenly, and dug his claws into her arms, so she had to let go. He jumped out of her arms and ran behind the sofa. Natasha looked at him, confused, when an unnatural bright light lit up the city, and everything went black.
