Transformation

She heard Erek yawn, "You alright? You sound tired. It's ok if you want to sleep longer." At that moment, the toast popped up. She buttered it lightly, and brought it infor Erek, pulling up a table infront of him. She began eating her own toast and switched on the news, which was, surprise surprise, about the transformation.

[Lupus!]

"I don't really wanna sleep any longer..." He grabbed the toast and took a bite out of it... He wondered if he should drink coffee... Dad said that it was good to wake you up, but he never gave Erek that... The toast was already gone and Erek suddenly was confused... Did he eat it that quick...?

"Well, ok. But if you want to, the offer's still there. I'm getting myself some hot chocolate, do you want anything to drink?"

She didn't drink coffee or tea, she'd tried coffee as a child and hated it - it put her off. And she didn't want to risk tea either.

"Um... I dunno..." He yawned again..."Hot chocolate sounds nice..."  He was staring to dislike this sleepiness now... He briefly wondered if his parents were foxes, too, but dropped the thought, due to another yawn...

"Ok," she said, pouring the milk in a pot. "I hope you don't mind, I make it with milk instead of water."

She watched the milk boil, she wondered how far the blast had reached. Had it affected the whole world, or just this city? Were her parents affected? She wondered whether she should call them....

Erek blinked. "With milk...? Why?" He suddenly found himself very curious... And awake, too. Weird... But he did want to know why she used milk instead of water, though...

After she made her full turn she looked down at her paws. She lifted them up in front of her face, surveying them. "Wow...this is amazing." She said. She had finally gotten over her problem with the transformation. In fact, she kind of liked being this way now. The only thing she had a problem with now is not knowing if this transformation would cause more harm than good. She looked over the side of the building, down at the street below. Why was no one around? Everyone had disappeared. She shrugged and kept looking down at the street.

It was then it hit him. How long do I have to live? Does this mean that I won't have as big a life span?

"Umm...I dunno really..." she began, "I just prefer it that way...I'll make your's with water if you like? I also have tea and coffee if you'd rather have those." She didn't actually know why she had the two drinks, it was just for visitors and she ddin't usually have those. Her thoughts stopped as she realised the milk was bubbling, poured it into a mug.

"It's ok. I wanna try it." He smiled brightly. He wanted to know what it tasted like. He was really excited to try it... Which was weird, considering he usually liked to stick with his regular drinks...

He finished the coffee and poured a cup with some cream and sugar and handed it to the new comer. "Hope you like it. It's genuine Colombian coffee. Hope not too much dust got in there from the bomb. heh heh.

"Ok," she poured some of the milk into another mug, and put in the powder. "You might have to stir it for a while, it takes longer to dissolve in milk. Oh, and it's hot. I wouldn't advice drinking it yet," she handed him a cup, and sat down stirring her own.

Erek nodded and started stirring it, too... He smelled it and smiled a little... He couldn't wait to try it... He was really excited and he wondered when it would cool down...

She blew over the top of the drink to cool it down a little faster, and then picked up the newspaper, scanning for jobs again. She never found anything that suited her. She wanted to travel, she wanted adventure - she always had. But all that ever came up were office jobs - and she didn't want one of those. She suddenly had an idea - maybe Erek's parents would have vacancies where they worked? Erek seemed nice and polite, and she was sure the his parents had respectful jobs.
"Umm...Erek. I've been looking for a job for a while....and I was wondering....what do you parents work as? I was wondering....if they might be able to find me an vacancies...as long as it's not an office job." she added the last part in trying not to make it sound insulting, incase his parents did have office jobs. She quickly added "I'm...uh...claustrophobic. I couldn't work in an office - too small." the last part was partly true, but she knew it wouldn't affect her working in an office. She just didn't want to make what she said an insult.

Erek blinked... "Um... Dad's a lawyer... And Mom owns that place in the city... um... I think it's called Triumph..." Triumph was the biggest club in the city. It was very famous and everyone knew that it was a very good place to hang out, if you had the money. "I'm sure they can get you a job, but... I think you need to be qualified for it, too..." He stared at the hot chocolate... It looked like it dissolved now... Erek took a careful sip of it... It wasn't as hot as he thought it was... Even though it was still steaming... He took a larger sip of it and smiled... "This is great!"
