Ray, having collected his leg from the miscreants, wandered about, unsure of what to do. He whistled lightly, as he limped about. Ray spun the obsidian amulet around idly, the black object reflecting light like a mirror.

Animus gave Aaron a reassuring smile, "At least i know you are prepared" he placed a small hand onto the fox's arm and squeezed it gently, "but yeah we need to go." Animus walked alongside Aaron catching the attention of many men who thought the little wolf was simply a female in cosplay. His white furred stomach and bright blue furred back exposed showing off his girlish figure. He met te glance of a tiger who seemed to give him a grin and a wink causing Animus to blush and hide behind Aaron as they walked.

     "Pre...prepared for what, what are you talking about?" Aaron smiled shakily. He put it out of his mind and focused on giving anyone who looked at Animus a lightening-charged glare. The bus stop was within sight...albeit a little far away.

     (((Yep. I'm off to my course tomorrow. What's the bet that after warning everyone I will be gone for two weeks I will have a net connection there - Enigir Shosa)))

Animus hugged Aaron's arm, "you... you'll protect me..." he said unsure of himself. "Aaron... i know you might hate it but they all think im a girl... could we walk together like a couple? at least until the bus stop? im sure itll stop some of them..." he asked hsitantly. the stares were becoming more and more of a growing problem.. When the passed through a few people Animus yelped, he felt a hard grab to his butt.

     *THWACK!*
     "I saw that!" Aaron glared down at the one who had tried to grope Animus. His eyes were  two thin slits of insane wrath and his voice was the coldest m and sharpest iron. Aaron leaned in as the man he had decked with a unrestrained punch started shaking.
     "If you don't fix up your moral guidelines you're going to die early one day." Aaron whispered. He straightened out and took Animus' paw with a wide, innocent smile.
     "Shall we go?" Aaron asked brightly. As they came closer to the bus stop:
     "Carry you on your shoulders. Your first odd request today. Your second? Hold hands as we walk. Both of these requests are things those seeking to become a mates pair do. I also refuse to believe you're so off and on awkward all the time. So my question is this: why. Why are you behaving like this?"
     Aaron glanced back at Animus with a look that demanded an answer.

Animus gave a look at Aaron's victim and then looked away, he tried to keep up with Aaro stumbling a bit. He blushed at the utterance of mates "i... i dont know... im sorry." he looked to the ground as they approached the bus. If only Aaron knew, if only Animus had the courage to tell the fox.

     "Tell me, Animus Shiro. Now." Aaron demanded. He picked up the pace to add pressure to the situation.

Animus teared up a bit, "i... i cant..." the bus horn went off a few times.

     "Tell me." Aaron looked away. Was it...something not quite ordinary?
     "Tell me...please. I mean, what's so bad you can't tell your roomie? And...if it really hurts so much to say, I'll...I'll comfort you after..."

Animus felt so conflicted. Was he going to tell him? Then he sparked an idea, "when i meet your parents, i'll tll you. okay?"

     "Meet my...parents. Right. Okay." Aaron fell silent after that. He was silent all the way to his hometown.

     ...

     The town was a dusty road with houses and stores stretching along the strait. Up a forested hill lay a large looking mansion. Aaron had mumbled about it being an hours walk because vehicles couldn't seem to get up there.
     Aaron stared blankly along the road. A gust of wind blew dust past the Fox's vacant expression. His chest was hurting again. But of course, it always did...here. Aaron didn't move.
     The Blades...his master...his parents...they were here. All here. Waiting.
     Just for him.
     "Excuse me." Aaron walked off before animus could do anything. He made behind the houses by the entrance of town, staggered to the trees and grabbed a handful if bark as he fell forward to vomit.
     He clutched his chest and retched for a few minutes. His eyes were on the verge of tearing up. Aaron threw up one last time and, empty, made back to animus after wiping his mouth on a leaf.
     "Where to?" Aaron asked. His voice lacked tonal variety.

"Well... we could go see your parents now... or we could visit your family... or you master..." He looked at the area then to Aaron. "Its up to you"

     "I don't..." Aaron muttered, unmoving. He hiccuped.

"okay... your parents" he giggled a bit at the hiccup. He knew he couldnt hold back his feelings... he had to tell Aaron... and the item wrapped in paper was becoming somewhat bothersome for the small wolf to carry.

     (((OOOHHHHHH NO HE DIDN'T! NO HE DIDN'T! - Enigir)))

     "O...okay then." Aaron trudged with heavy footsteps through town, not seeing all the people greeting him as he made through town. It took them twenty minutes to get to the other side of town. They turned right - always keeping to the footpath - and entered the black iron gates to the cemetery. They ventured to the very back and stopped by two graves.
     "Mom? Dad? I'm home." Aaron's voice was high. It wavered. "I know I'm home early...the town with the high school is filled with delinquents. They shut the place down on day three. So I...I thought I'd visit. This here is Animus Shiro. He's my Destroyer. He's a good kid, bit sort of awkward. He...he found me a job in the cafe in town...the pay...the pay is..."
     Aaron fell silent. He bit his lip.
     "The pay is great!" Aaron growled. He wasn't angry. "You probably want to meet my new friend...he's the...you know how my life's been. Anyway...I'm taking him to meet the rest of the Blades and to meet my master. I'll...I'll talk to you guys later tonight. P-please...meet Ani..." Aaron stumbled a few feet aside and crumpled in a ball by the gate. He stared into the dirt and leaves.
