Jankhe nodded. "Ah, those vain religious ones... think they're kings of the world. Being a spirit... well, it really depends what state you're in, and what state you choose to be in. It's a lot different from being a normal being at any rate; my current state is humanoid, yet it still feels weird. If you try to move like a human, it's awkward... I practised for decades to make my movements look natural." He chuckled. "Ah, I was a powerful mage in my day... I was defeated by one of the simplest spells, which simply teaches me to balance the simple and the complex. You'd be amazed at how well the simplest of spells work in the most fatal of situations... A simple spell just used to jolt someone - I normally use it to wake people up, or distract them - can prevent someone from casting a deadly curse. They shield themselves from the high end magic, but forget about all the small things..."
He paused. "Forgive me... I'm getting sidetracked. Just watch; this is how I first tried walking." His mask, wand and some parts of his robe disappeared, leaving basic rags which still kept the shape of a human body. They moved forwards slightly, but parts of them trailed behind, and they slowly rotated and moved in weird ways; before he turned back into the Jankhe of five minutes earlier. "A simple reason some people find some ghosts so scary... they haven't learnt to move properly, and so their unnatural movements scare the living."
