anoni is playing with the idea of making it a modded server because why not a lot of us want it and i need my mods because they add so much to the game with things you can do automation, decoration heck applied energistics is a full on storage and crafting mod thermal expansion is the automation side of things along with buildcraft and others mods do so many things heck theres one mod called tails that adds a tail to the player.

Isn't it more fair to let those who like lots of mods to make their own modded games with exactly the mods they want than force the public to use specific one set that plays a specific way? And weren't you the one AGAINST mods before?

i love my mods but that was taken way out of context and has been dealt with


what i meant to say before is yes some like to keep the 2 separate but theres also the issue of those who are unable to get the core mods to install right and end up having issues like forge that has files that go into your .jar minecraft file and that is a royal pain to do because you need programs and files and backups of said files incase of a error thats where im not with mods for those who are new to doing such a thing like i was but im still unable to do it because its such a big task

Then what are you in support of? 0n one hand, you're asking for new mods, on the other you're saying they're a "royal pain".

well hopefully a mod pack that we can vote on because it takes all the hard work out of most things like config files ddoing the installs most minecraft server providers have one click modpack install for the server

  I think we just need to keep things simple for this one, the other server can be for the core modding.

I feel we should take it easy on the mods. I agree with the modpack idea, but let's not go crazy with it and keep it simple. Especially since some people on the server can't handle too many of them and they won't be able to play.

I had forgotten about that. I was just against the over-modding because it'd be inconvenient to manage a lot of mods and it'd ruin the vanilla appeal that anon was going for. (and I like)  Cosmetics (like the tail Saph suggested) should be fine, but things with a lot to process can ruin the game in multiple ways, whether it's because someone has a computer that isn't ready for it or because the mod has bad scripts that crash the game or cause troublesome bugs. I once had a friend whose mods conflicted and it deleted his whole map. There was literally nothing left but sky.

your choice really if you dont play with mods fine your choice mine is i love mods because it makes things alot more fun for me and a bigger challenge when it comes to resource gathering and all that

i will use buildcraft for a example: buildcraft has gears that go up to diamond 4 of each per gear now to make one of the machines you need 3 diamond gears so

3*4 = 12 diamonds and we all know how rare diamonds are without a luck pick but theres also a reward a machine that will do work for you and possibly return those 12 diamonds in the long run if its the buildcraft quarry theres also the pick so that takes it to 15 diamonds

thermal expansion is a great example of resource usage to get the top tier things you need alot of enderpearls and a good power system with energy hungry machines

see where mods can be useful and annoying at the same time

Never said I was against mods in general, just against flooding the server we all play on with mods we can't all use.

yea i know but when i add mods its normaly one i like because to many mods will really get bad and no bet cause more issues then anything also we might have the issue with new ores

anoni wants to keep the current world save but to get new ores we need to load new chunks causing lag when if we just use the seed same map just starting over again like i want

Yeah. I like the vanilla feel to it as well. I personally prefer the non-invasive mods that add a little spice to it rather than reworking much of the system, like the furniture mod. Some mods add so much stuff that it starts to get complicated and even a bit laggy.


And yeah, I don't feel we should wipe the entire world. Simple mods that don't require that are best for the server, in my opinion.
