In my opinion, no. Not at all.

I think it would be neat, aesthetically, mainly because I like making my avatars for games representative of me. But it would be cool if a "more player models" mod was made that gave you different qualities based on models you add.
Like if you gave yourself wings, you could fly, but you would move slow and lose hunger faster. And use of a mod/plugin that could let you train your speed, health, and more would add a nice incentive to the game.

Consider that any mods would probably throw off a number of people who are either incapable of modding, or who play on PCs that are incapable of running effificently with mods.

When more parts are involved in a machine, there is more that can go wrong.

The second part, the ability training, could be a plugin. I am a fan of plugins.

MCMMO would be nice. The tool and weapon augments at least. Always did like the axe's ability to cut down whole trees. Very convenient.

I like to have complete, unrestricted control of my game servers.
