Ray yelped, as he set off one of the guardsmen's pistols. The round buried itself in the dirt, but the report echoed around for a few moments. He looked around, hoping guards wouldn't think he killed these guards.

Ray nodded. "Thank you." He stood, but immediately fell on one of the guards (having slipped on one of the brass buttons he had dropped), causing the other pistol to discharge, the round burying into the ground, and the report reverberating off of the walls.
