Geoff continued staggering his way through the forest, his body shaking. He planned to head to his clan's base, but now he was too dazed to know where to go from here.
He felt himself about to fall over and leaned against a tree. He attempted to slow his descent to the ground, then rolled onto his back.
Maybe I should rest here for a while...
He lay there, gazing at the branches above, his mind wandered. He wondered if Tulip was feeling better today. He wished he could have checked up on her. There was still some soup in the fridge she could eat. She really enjoyed that soup. He smiled.
He slowly fished out the two enchanted bladed knuckle dusters from his belt. The ones she sacrificed her health for. It was surprising how she was willing to do such a thing for him. He didn't deserve it, but he was still very thankful. He owed her a lot. Someday he shall find a way to pay her back.
Once he's done meeting at the base, he'll head right back to check on Tulip. Maybe she'll be recovered enough for them to go out and do something. Like go on that shopping spree. Or he could take her to that scenic area he went to with Setcho and Cassy. He was sure she'd enjoy it.
He wielded the weapons. He could feel the enchantment.
"Forever Never Breaking." Unbreakable.
What if enchantments could be done on people, too? What if people could be unbreakable?
If he was unbreakable, maybe he wouldn't be so afraid. He wouldn't be so hesitant on doing good when there's risk involved. He'd definitely do his job better.
Oh well... He'll just have to get used to being the breakable creature he is.
Geoff closed his eyes and drifted into sleep.
