A second piece of debris breaks off from the chunk, heading straight towards you. You are unable to dodge it in time, and a sharp piece of metal is soon sticking out of you long-range FTL drives.  The ship shudders, its momentum halted. It then launches into a spin, thankfully not felt by the crew. The gravity drives should correct for that.

It appeared Ashlin spoke to soon. A loud crash echoed through the engine room and an alert came up on the computer, the FTL drive flashing red  "Ehh Capt'n, we got problems. What ever ya just hit is lodged in our FTL drive. We are leaking coolant into space." She said through the intercom. Typing some commands in the computer, she pulled up a damage read out.

Xander groans as he hears that and quickly makes his way to the engine room, walking up to Ashlin. "So...how bad is it? Bad or really bad?" Looking at the computer over her shoulder, for once actually a little concerned that something serious may be happening.

There was a small explosion across from where Perry stood in the Bow maintenance deck, sending him off his feet.
He picked himself up and punched the intercom.
"guys, we're losing engines"
the intercom fizzled
"I'm sealing the bulkheads, we need to land soon"

"Oh! And you were worried about me wrecking the ship," Leo laughed as he spun over to the navigation computer. He tapped away at the buttons to plot a course for the pilot to follow. Naturally, it was aligned with the docking bay.

"So... it looks like we're stuck in a perpetual Aileron roll, Capn."

"If it was you..." Angder growled. "There would not be a ship left."

Angder yelled over the intercom. "Ashlin, and that useless piece of shit Xander, can one of you repair this damn FTL drive? I can stop the spin... Also WHY THE Firetrucking FECK Did the ship stop! I thought I told you to turn off that system! I don't want to stop when hit, I want to keep flying so nothing new hits us." Angder slumped back in his seat. "OK... stopping the spin..." Angder turned on the thrusters on the bottom of the left side, and the top of the right side of the ship. trying to slow the spin.

Xander rolls his eyes and lets out a long sigh. His voice coming through the intercom as he begrudgingly responded to the order. "yes, Boss, I'm on it. We'll let you know as soon as we know exactly how bad the problem is and if it is even easily fixable." Heading towards the FTL drive at a slow, relaxed pace. He stops dead in his tracks as he sees the sharp piece of metal lodged in the ship, and more specifically the FTL drive. "why does space debris have to be so dangerous? Can't just be something blunt, no, it has to be sharp metal." Xander silently hopes for Ashlin's help but is keeping his mouth shut.

"Oh please! If it was me, the same damn thing would happen," The feline laughed, as he peaked out the cockpit window once more. "By the way... we don't have an option in this now. Land before those idiots pull out what ever is keeping this ship pressurized."

Ashlin, knowing Xander might not be able to do the job alone, got up and headed after him, standing beside him and crossing her arms as she approached the FTL drive. "Oh boy, this isnt good." She said, her ears twitching to the hiss of escaping oxygen. Beads of liquid poured from a severed line and slipped around the chunk of debris, no doubt the cooling fluid leaking into space. "Well, it cant be fixed, not in the vacuum of space anyway, but I can at least stop the oxygen from escaping." Walking over to a tool cabinet, the vixen opened it up and retrieved an ion torch. "Hey Xander, wanna go over there 'an seal the door? If somethin blows I dont want the rest of the crew to get sucked out with us."

Xander salutes jokingly "Aye aye, boss." Walks over to the door and hits the panel next to it, closing it and then sealing it. Giving Ashlin a thumbs up. "All good over here. If something fucks us up we'll be the only ones to die" Giving a false reassuring smile.

Ashlin rolled her eyes at the sarcasm. "Man Xander, I just got up and ya already want to make me go back to bed." She said with a laugh. Flipping down her goggles, she went over to the FTL drive, pressing the torch to the haul and welding it to the debris.

Xander walks over to her to her and watches her weld the debris over her shoulder. "Well you know me, it's pretty much my job to do that, where as yours is to be a much better engineer. It's quite a good way for a team to work if you ask me"

With the debris holding in the air, it would likely be best to remove it only when in the presence of oxygen. The only way to do that would be to move into a larger ship, or a planet. There seemed to be a perfectly viable ship, just up ahead. There would also probably be a multitude of spare parts as well, given that it's a huge ship, and, as with any huge ship, there is always smaller ships coming in, looking for repairs.

Angder sighed, and started to fly the ship towards the bigger ship. "Well, if you insist..." Angder moves the ship into the hanger, "The hanger door might not close... we are going to have to send someone out to close it manually if that's the case... unless you don't want any life support..." The ship shudders as Angder puts it down on the floor of the hanger.

Ashlin pulled up her goggles and checked her work. It was hurried, but good enough until she could really work on it. "Yanno, you would be a good engineer too if ya wernt such'a lazy ass." She said, moving past Xander and reopening the blast door. "Now lets get up to and see what Captin wants us to do." Leaving the engine room, the fox made her way up to the cockpit, leaning a shoulder against the doorway. "So we decided to check this ship out eh?"
