My father's side of the family came from Norway, and it wasn't until my dad's generation where they stopped using super Scandinavian names. Oddly, they abandoned the language pretty quick upon moving to the US. We've used the English pronunciation of our family name for so long the living members had no idea the J was originally pronounced like a "Y"
