Alrighty I'll see what I can come up with I actually want to become a game developer at some point I've got a few ideas but nothing to put them into action so I guess this could be sort of a little jump start.

Will the computer program be a character inside the computer or is it just  going to be a series of move you can perform on the attacker?

It'll be an actual character (again like in Megaman).
Plus we have a few cool ideas for some special powers like grappling hook or sorta "entering" the enemies and making them explode. And probably some zappy power because electricity and computers and all that.
And dashing.

Here's an idea to bounce
We want to call the character DASH, for defensive auto security H?
Not hardware cuz it's clearly software
I guess S could be software as well but still no good idea for H

Hack because in a way you do kinda have to hack your code into the system allowing you to defend it.

So D.A.S.H Defensive Auto Security Hack.
I also came up with P.A.C.C Personally Assisted Computer Code

Well I guess it could be hack and I did think of it but it didn't really "fit" you know?
I mean, they're the ones hacking, you're defending it.
But if we don't get anything better then we'll probably go with that.

I like the full version but pacc doesn't really sound well or mean anything.
And dash is like
You'll have a dash. Your name is dash.

Yeah that's pretty understandable.

Hatch is another idea I had because quite a few repairs or fixes are done through hatches and technically you are repairing your computer by destroying whats causing damage But I didn't think it would fit.

We might just look up a list of IT terms and see what cool things we can find under H

Well we have some visual concepts but nothing special in terms of AI.
Besides friend really wanting to have a boss with a circular arena you run around.

Visuals he wants to do are, what he described as "a big square jawed head with legs, and another enemy that's the same face but this time with a full beefy body"
All we have in terms of that for now
No attacks or real visual stuff.

Looked up stuff, Hash (or hasher), Hex(or Hexer whatever that is) or Hunter work for H.
Hunter even makes sense, even though it's not IT per se.
But i mean, defensive security hunter would make sense and also would fit with the game.

I got a decent Idea I am not an artist but I can try and draw it up But more or less the enemy could be laser shooting computer chips that change color depending on the difficulty so the easiest being green and the hardest being a red or something like that that is my basic concept of an enemy. I don't know if it fits into the game but I could also come up with actual characters instead of computer chips.

I guess that's a good texture to overlay on the enemies.
As in
Instead of just plain body they could have circuit like features like the wires and stuff like that.
Don't think concept is necessary, it's pretty simple.
Friend wanted to really colour code stuff though, as in, main character being white with blue glow and enemies being black/purple with red glow.
But we might use that concept for a few still. Purple circuit boards look decent.

I should get your discord when we start doing stuff for easier communication about it and less spam on the forum.

And from there if we really need more we should just get slack because it's like discord but with replies to individual messages to clutter less. But I doubt we'll get there.
Friend might be busy or asleep though, not getting any replies so far.

as usual on big days, my phone runs out of battery
I enjoy the job
6am to 4pm - long time
but it was two different jobs at the same place
(6am to 7:40 working with the Frito Lays potato chips)
(7:45am to 4pm my normal grocery stocking job)
and even a lunch break as well
