(I will be getting off for the night. Phone stopped holding a charge just today, so might not be posting as much tomorrow till it gets fixed. Good night, and best of luck to all.)"Big blue is one way to say it. Everybody calls it the sky around here." said Galen, looking up at the pure light blue of the coastal skies.
"Eventually, people wondered if we could use electricity, rather than just see it race its way through the sky. And that is what happened. People found ways to generate it, to harness it, and now it allows the structures you see today. The lights in my shop are powered by electricity." said Galen, remembering the gracious generosity of the brilliant mind who helped fund his endeavors.
"Let me get this concept through: electricity is not magic, or anything of the sort. Our growing world is held together by explainable causes. Well, mostly explainable causes at least. I learned the slightest bit of what you would call 'magic' a few years back by pure chance, but it hasn't helped me much. A spark here, a push there. Nothing grand."
Galen turned and started walking down the street towards his house a few blocks away, grey coat in one hand and briefcase in the other.
"I will be going home. You are new to everything around here it seems, so if you want, feel free to come with me for a while. You'll see what this world has to offer soon enough. I hope."
