Warlight - [1]Warlight is a fairly easy to learn turn based strategy game. If you know about the board game 'Risk' then you know what this is.
This is what the map looks like:
---------- General info ----------
This is a turn based strategy game based around armies attacking each other.
The map itself is split into different sectors which have a code such as 'A1'
Within each sector is a number which is in a box, this number represents how many units are in a sector. for example, 'A1' has 5 of my units in it
Each unit has 1hp and can deal 1 damage
---------- Rules / How to play ----------
On your turn, you have two phases:
Move/attack
Unit placement
--- Movement/Attacking ---
In the movement/attack phase, you are able to move your units by 1 sector, you get to choose how many units you move and where they go.
An example of this would be the following situations:
If I move 4 units from 'A1' to 'A2' then I would control 'A2' with 2 units in that sector
If I move 3 units from 'A1' to 'A2' then I would control 'A2' with 1 unit in that sector
If I move 2 units from 'A1' to 'A2' then I wouldn't control A2 because of how the combat works:
In combat, the defenders will always attack first, so in this case, they would hit my 2 attackers for 1 damage, leaving me with 1 unit to attack them with
After they've attacked me, I get to attack them for 1 damage leaving them on 1 unit left
and finally, their last unit would attack my unit and wipe out the attack force I sent to them
--- Unit placement ---
In the unit placement turn, you will be able to place 3 units (this is increasable) in any sector that you own.
On the map are different textured sectors, these groups of sectors (or segments) will give you extra units per turn if you own every sector of that texture.
If I were to capture all the horizontal sectors, I would be able to place 6 units per turn.
You are able to place units into sectors you are capturing, but only if you are guaranteed to capture the sector.
---------- Other Info ----------
If you plan on joining this RP, there are 4 player slots.
I'd like you to be fairly active, so if you're not posting for a few days, your units may turn into rebels and you will leave the game.
This is a turn based game, the rotation will be P1 -> P2 -> P3 -> P4 -> P1 etc..
Feel free to just chat about the game if you want to do!
Here's an example turn:
