Geoff nodded and leaned closer to Gaia. He was a little bit nervous, naturally.
"Hey there, Gaia," he spoke in a gentle tone, "It's time to wake up,"

[Dr. Alka Wolf]

*Gaia gasped as her eyes shot open. They weren't bloodshot anymore, but her breathing was heavy, almost like she has been deprived of air* Gaia: G-G-Ge-Geoff...?


*Alka breathed a sigh of relief* Alka: Good thing he thought about it first... She's probably a lot more dangerous than we think...

[The Past]

Geoff sighed with relief and smiled. "Yeah, it's me."
He figured that was a better way to go. His ex-mate was a war veteran, and he told him to wake him up the same way if he ever had nightmares, which he luckily never had while Geoff was around.

[Dr. Alka Wolf]

*Gaia's stripes slowly returned to green, as her breathing returned to normal* Gaia: Hi... It's uhm... B-b-been a w-while...

*Alka smiled and decided to head to the kitchen. He needed food, Gaia needed her meds and he thought the two needed some time alone. To catch up* Alka: Call me if anything happens... I'll be off to the kitchen. I'll come back with her meds later. You two play nice... *Alka chuckled as he exited the room*

[The Past]

"Yeah..."

Geoff wasn't really sure of what to say. He knew it was best to not bring up anything she went through--or anything negative in general, for that matter--but the only things that came to mind were the unfortunate events around the property. He also couldn't remember if he told her about his magehunting job or not, if it was even worth talking about.

"... Things have been doing okay, I suppose," he shrugged.

[Dr. Alka Wolf]

*Gaia nodded* Gaia: T-T-That's... G-g-good... H-how've you b-been...?

[The Past]

"Uh, alright, I guess" Geoff replied. "I've been practicing magic a lot."

[Dr. Alka Wolf]

*Gaia slowly moved a paw towards Geoff. Everything hurt less now, so she found it a bit easier* Gaia: Oh... H-How... I've missed you... Friend... *Gaia teared up a tiny bit*

[The Past]

Geoff gently held Gaia's hand. "I've missed you too..."
He wished he could do more for her.

[Dr. Alka Wolf]

*Gaia smiled a slight bit. Having Geoff with her was the nicest company she's had in what feels like forever. Besides what little she could retrieve from Zarco last time she was conscious* Gaia: So... I-I'm guess-ssing t-that you're a-a pro n-now...?

[The Past]

"Eh, I wouldn't say pro," Geoff said, "But I'm getting there..."
He smiled wider. "Wanna see me turn invisible?"

[Dr. Alka Wolf]

*Gaia nodded slightly* Gaia: S-Sure... *She grinned widely*

[The Past]

Geoff closed his eyes and took a few breaths to get into focus, and slowed his last exhale. His body gradually appeared translucent before he felt silly and held back laughter, canceling his spell.
"Pfft! Sorry, haha!..."

[Dr. Alka Wolf]

*Gaia chuckled* Gaia: That's really cool... *She stopped shivering and continued holding onto Geoff's paw*

[The Past]

"I-It's supposed to work better, but I lost focus, heh."
Geoff sighed and relaxed.
