Furry Extra-terrestrial Expedition Divison (F.E.E.D)

Welcome to F.E.E.D., a multi-cultural, multi-species government funded program. We aim high, beyond the heavens.  You must be here about our "Xeda-153" expedition, yes? Well, get aboard the "Mephistophiles". A brochure will be available to you regarding any other questions you may have.




Information: In this RP, the group FEED is trying to send an expedition, hopefully to colonize, one of the yet untaimed planets in our galaxy. You, dear role-player, are to join this crew, as any sort of conscripted/recruited member, to try and set up some form of base of operations.


The planet (Xeda 153): Also known as the "Dust-ball", Xeda-153 is a primarily desert-covered planet THREE TIMES the size of Earth. Vegitation is sparse, and the land is tough. The life on this planet range from small sand beetles to gigantic worms. However, at a percursory glance, there seems to be a vastly intelligent (compared to the beetles and worms) sort of tribal group that has been surviving on this planet. It's atmosphere is lacking in oxygen, approximately one eighth the amount on Earth. That means exo-packs will be distributed, and will need to be refilled. Water, from what FEED satilites could ascertain, exists a few hundred feet under the sand. The expedition groups will be given tools for extracting it.


Tribals: From what FEED Satilites could gather, the tribals appear to be purple, anthropomorphic raccoons. Their grasp on technology is limited, but they seem to have a natural connection to the very sand they walk upon. FEED's approach to the tribals are outlined in the two operations that follow:


Operation: FEATHERWEIGHT
   The plan is simple, as designed by Chairwoman Violetta, and requires the expedition group to make peace with the tribals. Try and learn their ways, live in peace along side them.  If they are hostile, simply leave, and start again somewhere else.


Operation: ALL-STICK
   As designed by Security Lead Harold Macleon, this plan is...well, frowned upon by most governments. It outlines a hostile takeover of the tribals, oppressing them with advanced weaponry. Then, they will be either relocated to other parts of the planet, if they aren't sent to another planet all together. We tried this once, with Captain Gordon Harrison as our spearhead, but we haven't heard from him since 2199, almost three years ago.


The operation outline will be voted on by the crewmembers, and they will be equipped to match their choice.


*Remember, the tribals are very, VERY primative. This does NOT mean peaceful, so be on your guard.

Aside from this strange detail, he is typically seen in full tactical gear at all times, only removing his flak vest, pads, and various armaments during shore leave.

In regards to personality he is somewhat reserved, optimistic, insistent on getting to the bottom of mysteries and/or puzzles, perceptive and empathetic.

As an aside, it may be a good idea to include a species and/or appearance section if the character is not the writers sona, so everyone has an immediate idea as to what they are dealing with? For example, my critter is an Icairi (original species).
