Whoah!I must have given a wrong idea of what I wanted to say, sorry!
The gay part is not linked to the things I find scary about the fandom, nor strange.
It was a separate question.I wanted to be sure if the fandom promotes gay culture because I have seen a lot of homosexual porn and references while researching.I personally don't like gay people that much, but recently I'm trying to be indifferent about it and label it as harmless like it really is.
Yes of course!Anime can be pretty weird some times, well not exactly the animation itself, more like the fanbase.Anime fans can be really stupid sometimes,I readily acknowledge that.I never got trolled or harassed because I'm a fan of it,turns out that people don't hate anime as much as,sadly, your fandom.
And of course,if something is strange,it doesn't mean its a bad thing but is still, strange.
What I find scary though is that,if I join the fandom,I'll become extremely liberal, homo or bi,become a atheist and to start loving rainbows and hugs. Not to mention that I'll become obsessed with nature, which is what I don't want because all of this is the complete opposite of what I am.
I understand that these are all misconceptions, not all furries are like this of course. It's just that the fandom has its way of changing people. For example, someone mentioned that the fandom is turning him gay,in this very thread.
No offence, but I must consider how fast furries got so defensive because I said something the wrong way.One furry (I don't remember who) replied with a comment that says "Isn't anime as strange?",I don't know why did he bring it up,I thought we were talking about the furry fandom
,because I never pointed at the anime fandom and said "It's the greatest thing ever!".Nah its not perfect, but that's what I like and I understand that somebody out there isn't going to love it,which is okay because he doesn't like it and doesn't care about it either, not like haters and trolls who deliberately search for things they hate.
I can't lie, furries are very defensive when it comes to criticism
.I learned that the hard way while chatting with furries via YouTube comments.
Why does it matter? That's a good point,it doesn't matter. In the end I happily admit that the furry fandom is better than my fandom, and don't say things like "no,there is no better fandom".As much as it hurts,it's true,I can't deny that the furry fandom is the one of the best things in the world,no matter how much scary or strange it sounds, ignoring it would mean I'm ignorant haha! You can say that I "lost this battle".
This is,all I have to say, hope that this clears a lot of things.
