Do your friends make fun of you for being a Furry?

This is for like, venting I suppose. Do your friends know that you're a Furry, do they make fun of you for it?

Some know, most don't. It came up a few times in school, and quickly faded from interest. People know who I am, and my interests don't change that image.

Considering that one of my best friends in actually in a Skype group with a several members of the forums, I think it would be pretty safe to say that he knows. Not a furry, but a nice person, and that is all that matters to me.

Those who matter don't mind, and those who mind don't matter.

Oh yeah, some do.
Every time I **censor** up, there's one of my colleagues that makes animal sounds.
There's also one that makes stupid questions.
Others are just curious about the fandom, but it annoys me, like they can't research it on themselves using internet.

Most of my friends irl are furries, so we make fun of each other being furries.
Most non-furry friends who know I'm a furry occasionally makes fun of me being a furry as well, but since it's all just for fun I just play along and usually add to the jokes as well. It's good to be able to laugh at yourself from time to time.

I generally don't bring furries or being furry up in general conversation, so a lot of the people I interact with just don't know. At the same time, though, they also know what it's like to be part of fandoms and other groups that are ostracized and generalized based on their ill-behaved members, and are neutral towards furries at worst. Any ribbing that's done is playful and not intended as an insult.

In my experience, nobody seems to care unless you're doing things like wearing ears and a tail to school or making animal noises at people, or are seemingly incapable of talking about anything else. It applies to pretty much anything you can be a fan of, really; you're fine as long as it doesn't become too much of an obsession.

yep... it was the worst Idea I ever had to believe 2 of my long time friends would not judge me. not only did they judge me, they went on a hour long rant telling me everything I like is stupid and how I should be killed for what im interested in... needless to say, I don't have them as friends anymore... look, I know our community can be weird sometimes, but I love it because of that... but, its gonna be awhile before I open up to anyone again...
