The Golden Age

[The Past]

Geoff jumped at the voice. "A-a-I wasn't trying to follow you," he said, backing up from the snake. "Just looking around. I-I'm sorry, sir..."

[Angder]

Grunan turns to face the bear. "Well, as your here, and if you enjoy looking around, I am trying to enter the deeper tombs. Can you help me get this door open? Grunan smiles at the bear obviously deciding what kind of person the bear was.

[Grovygrunge]

Maxwell wandered around the area before quickly ending up in the graveyard. He did no know whether he had gone there merely by coincidence or if he subconsciously wanted to see if the boy he had talked to in the inn last night was there. If he was he would probably be midway through an attempt to raise the dead, Maxwell was almost certain someone so young would only make a mistake.

[The Past]

"Uh, sure,"

Geoffrey fished a hand into his bag, pulled out a pick, and poked it into the lock . If there was something he was good at, it was picking locks. It had its uses; some good, some perhaps not so much. It was helpful either way.

[Angder]

Grunan grins as the door clicked open. "Thank you. After you of course. Though I warn you, the deeper tombs could be dangorous. We should use great care." Grunan gesturs at the spiral stairs beyond, descending into the depths.

[The Past]

Geoffrey nodded happily and moved to the stairs. He descended the steps slowly, making sure not to go too far ahead of the snake. As interested as he was with the place, he still found it unsettling.

[Angder]

Grunan comes down also, emerging into a large room, with a large wolf soldier statue, instead of a sword he is holding 2 shields, one for each side of the war.

"Symbol of peace. wonder how long it lasted." Grunan says, coldly. "My goal is further in. We are looking for the Lizard folk, involved in the war." Grunan grins. "This should be fun" Grunan heads further in, the corpses in there coffins are little more than dust here. "Watch out for traps." Grunan states "Most will have decayed, but some might still be active. if the ground feels unstable, stay still. It might be a pressure plate."

[Rayleonarde]

Ray sighed, and sat beside his anvil. He had flattened the pieces of steel, but had no way to combine them. Ray laid down, his head resting against the anvil, hoping someone would come by.

[Grovygrunge]

Maxwell looked around at all the gravestones. He felt peaceful, maybe it was because he was surrounded by nothing but the dead. The dead do not want, the dead do not get in his way. Well...Not often, anyway.

As Grunan spoke about the pressure plate Geoff's foot made contact with it. There was a loud click and a sudden hail of arrows shot out right in front of him. It was hard to tell if they were meant as a warning or if it was designed for someone who was running to head straight into the range of the trap.

[Angder]

Grunan raises his arms, but the bolts hit short of him... "Oh... guess the strings were rotten. Fortunate." Grunan readies his staff, and moves further, tapping the staff to check for traps. "If you want to turn back now is the time. But I am not going to let one broken trap stop me."

[The Past]

Geoff stood frozen for a moment, eyes wide and mouth agape, before relaxing with a sigh and following the snake.

As Grunan walked his robes got caught to a nearby sconce. The sconce pulled down and set off another trap, this times jets of flame shot out from the wall right next to Grunan.

[Angder]

Grunan is hit, and badly burnt, his robes catch light, Grunan topples to the ground, screaming. He tries to roll to put the fire out.
