Fursona Origins

Most people have a reason for the way their fursona is. What species it is, what it wears, what markings it has. Maybe an original thought started it all, or maybe it was an influence.
The purpose of this thread is to tell your story, so write away!

I'm into cats and feel like one.
Wolf part is to give his additional power.
I'm into sci-fi and fantasy in general.

What's your origin story HollowOfHaze?

My origin story is as follows

Name:
Before I came out about my sexuality I decided to make an account on a LGBT forum, but wanted some opsec so made a new account. Tried "Anonymous" but that was taken, tried "Anony" but was also taken, so tried "Anoni" and that worked. I then joined this forum and used the same tactic, the name sort of stuck and it became my fursona name (opsec ruined though XD)

Species:
  • Fox: My first fursona species was a fox, there were a few reasons for this. The main one is I imagined a world where furries were real and what each species would do in this world. Based on my imagination, foxes were a bit more nerdy, quiet and stuff, and I thought that associated with me well so I picked it. I had saw a picture of a fox that was sort of beige in colour so I decided to adopt a similar colour scheme.
  • Tiger: Tigers are actually my favourite animal, so I eventually decided to add a Tiger fursona. With the "unusual but not too far out" colour scheme I decided to make myself a Golden tiger, a rare (true) breed of tiger that is the combination of a normal tiger and a white tiger.
I then adopted a better story for my name, saying "Anoni means anonymous because my fursona's are not really characters themselves, but are simply avatars of me. By themselves they have no story and they have no identity, they're both called Anoni cause they're both anonymous"

Fursona Orgins
The Dragon Awakening

Anyway Drago is something i came Across when i was looking at Dragon, cause i was obsessed as a kid, still am.

The fact that i chose a Dragon was well kind of natural, the angel wings originated when i was mucking around with Photoshop as part of my Graphics class and made all these people have angel wings and were kicking ass, i had a dragon with angel wings and i said yep, that is my origin of a celestial ( which is another word for heavenly/angel) Dragon...
The gold and white was because Drago is a celestial and well they were the most heavenly colors i could think of. Sometimes he has purple hair, but that's a one of thing.

Drago is an extension of me, that is how i view him.

Origin of Blu

So I've always loved wolves, and just dogs in general since I was little. The Fox part came actually when I failed to draw my current avatar correctly, and it ended up looking like a Fox, but I liked it. Then the influence of my name, wolxikin influenced that, so I kept it, and decided to call it a Wolxand here I am today, one of the only Wolxes on here.

Halei-Helai essentially started as a writing exercise where I made myself describe a character to the smallest possible detail that would be apparent to a viewer. I had drifted in and out of the furry community for some time beforehand, and a lot of myself got unintentionally injected into Halei-Helai, my being a furry being part of that. At the end of it all I was stunned at how well she came out and how much of a connection I had with her, so I adopted her as my fursona after years of never having concretely developed one. She has been something of a muse ever since.

Geoffrey, my current fursona, is actually based on a human character in a story I'm working on.

Geoffrey was a minor character in it, but over time I started to like him a lot and developed him more, and with a quite needed readjustment of the main theme, eventually he became pretty much the main character. In the story, he happens to be part of the furry fandom and has a bear fursona.

I decided to use his fursona as a roleplay character (Starting with "Stranded" (though there are multiple roleplays with that name, eh...), and enjoyed playing as him since.
A large portion of him is based on and inspired by my own personal experiences, and happenings in the roleplays helped shape him even more as a character. Now I can say he's pretty much my fursona.

My username is completely unrelated to my fursona (There's a specific thread for that where I explained it), except the meaning behind it happens to fit Geoff's story arc.

It took me a long time to decide on a character to act as my fursona, so I don't have many details beyond the species yet. I decided that instead of trying to find an animal I thought fit me well enough, I would go with a type of animal that's more along the lines of what I want to be and how I want to be perceived. Bovines and other ungulates are strong, sturdy animals, with adaptations to defend themselves against predators and to survive in harsh climates. They are also able to be domesticated and can be very fluffy.

I think it fits because while I want to be strong and sturdy and all that, I also want to be approachable and just can't see myself as any sort of fearsome carnivore.

If I don't end up scrapping it per usual, hopefully.

I also forgot to mention the bear part of the fursona thing.

I've always liked bears, but most of my past fursona were all felines until mid-late 2010. I had one half-bear, based on the fact that my mom--who was an artist and inspired my interest in art and animation--adored bears and I assume she likely would have had a bear fursona. Over time I grew more attached to bears and felt that they, especially the American black bear, fit me more than a feline. So I switched to full bear, and that fursona went through an evolution of sorts until finally I scrapped her for personal reasons. I did bring a new version of her back as a shapeshifting bear, but later went back to having no fursona. Then came Geoffrey. :3

Zaida the name from thinking for what seemed like forever while using a temporary (gues you can say fake) Fursona I did not like.
Anywho chimera synx being a mysterious, creepy, alone, demented, parasitic, feral beast alien shows the negative part of me... Sadness, rage, greed, hatred, ect.
As for a ashvalian sergal is an alien living in a planet and social, intelligent, majestic, anthro showing the positive side of me... Joy,, protective, respectful, loving, soothing ect.
With the two mixed making Zaida and her emotions is how she acts and I admire the two species very very much. Made in a facility, a test subject shows corruption as being a goddess shows hope. (If that made sense)
Although this ain't the full thing, I just like to show a glimpse

I've always joked about not being human, since the majority of the human race seems so... different(give me a break I'm avoiding insulting words here). Joking about being alien is normal irl but alien doesn't really explain my character traits correctly. So since I can't exactly joke about being dragon irl I have to do it online. The rest of my fursona is just my character traits with the logicality of a dragon human hybrid. So the tl;dr version is I wanted something not human and not alien to represent what I truly am.
Dreq is, stronger then a human, able to stand a human punch without damage but too much more then that and I'm injured, claws that are almost always retracted, able to fly, wings are more sensitive then the rest of my body, able to see farther then humans, and hear just slightly more, looks to be the age of a young adult, mentality of a young dragon, introverted, almost always calm, anger and annoyance from him is dangerous, loves his treasures, which is more then just gems—its all that he values.

poke him if you wish to hear from him or have him do something (ie message me, I'll be most likely lurking and just havn't felt like posting or something. If you message me maybe I'll actually be active a little bit (so basically what you expect from a dragon))

My fursona (Vale) is a mix between all of the oc's ive ever created over the years, she has a part of each one's personality and wears the main colour of each one, she is a cat (Cause im a cat person) And the wings represent escape or freedom by flying away.
