Name: Ayllaina "Laina/Trips" Tripenka
Race: Pine Marten
Age: 26
Gender: Female
Primary Combat Style: Marksman/Stealth
Description: Shoulder-length blonde hair frames the face of the marten, highlighted with streaks of dark red and brown. Two small ears top her head to either side, both having small nicks along their rim. Slightly wavy bangs fall across her face from time to time, obscuring the gentle blue of her eyes and the soft curve of her cheeks. A tiny light brown nose tips her short muzzle, a pair of small whiskers poking from either side. Her mouth was often set in a neutral expression, flashing small bubbly smiles whenever anyone looked her way.
Her shoulders are slender, and combined with her long torso make her appear almost lanky were it not for the graceful way in which she moved. She often wore a dark leather jerkin that covered most of her modest chest, under which she always wore a grey-white tunic, small frills of fabric at the wrist, and a simple rawhide string keeping the garment closed in the middle. Similar dark leather covered her legs and wrists, the hardened material acting as a weak sort of armor. Metal plates were affixed at the shoulders, hips and thighs of her garments. No doubt the metal was almost as much as a decoration as for protection. Strapped diagonally across her chest is a belt of several pockets, both of her bracers also having slots for storing bullets. Her paws were dainty, though quick, and her feet are by and large covered by a heavy set of boots. Jerry, a heavy carbine rifle, is typically held at the ready or strapped across her back for travel. A second belt around her waist showing the handles of both a smaller gun and some type of blade.
Personality: Friendly, bubbly and generally shy. Laina does not work well with groups because she has a hard time communicating with the others on anything other than a surface level, and often people feel she is distant. In battle she is quite fierce, and it often catches allies off guard how the small marten can switch from almost painfully introverted to a violent killing machine.
Background: Trips comes from a poor and violent family of thieves and scoundrels that was both a bad environment and a good training ground for the young marten. She learned how to fend for herself at an early age, and despite being regularly abused both emotionally and physically by her family, she vowed to never become those she hated so passionately. As soon as she was able, she stole away one night, taking most of the family's money with her. One of her greatest fears is that her family is still trying to find her for her betrayal. After a time of living as a highway bandit, she made an enemy of the wrong noble. He dispatched a squad to arrest her, and while she was captured she managed to barter for her freedom by offering her services as a body guard. She was forced into this role for some time, but eventually the honest man allowed her her freedom, claiming that her debt was paid. She now works as a freelance mercenary, making an honest living with her rather dishonest skill-set.
Prevalent skills: Laina is an excellent marksman, and while her weapon of choice is a short-range carbine, she knows how to shoot most gun with a moderate proficiency.
Laina is also an excellent pick-pocket, and is able to pick most simple locks with basic tools.
She is naturally good at climbing, able to scale most grippable surfaces easily.
Her small body and innate quietness make her excellent at sneaking around and avoiding notice.
She is serviceable in melee combat, though will avoid it if at all possible.
Gear: Jerry- A modified heavy revolver that has been outfitted into a carbine rifle with the addition of an extended barrel and a hefty wooden stock. The gun's name has been scratched into the barrel, though if Laina named the gun or it was the name of the previous owner was unknown. Fires 7.62 rounds. The user of this weapon has to be careful where they're holding it, as the revolving chamber is not shielded and the large rounds cause quite a bit of blow-back. Jerry is loud as hell to boot. 30 rounds -> 18 rounds (after rat fight)
A single-barrel shotgun pistol. With only a 6" barrel, this gun is practically useless unless you're within 5 feet of your target. However, it will punch a hole in just about anything at that range, and Laina usually loads it up with slugs or heavy gauge shells. The gun has a typical loading style and needs to be reloaded after each shot. Typically used when her position has been compromised or if she runs out of bullets with Jerry. 12 rounds
A simple steel knife, used as much as a survival tool as for combat. This is a last resort weapon.
Boiled leather armor, capable of stopping most blades at the right angle, but certainly not a bullet or a well-placed strike.
