Yeah, I tend to switch between painfully adorable, (ridiculously epic), and silly grump ^^'  (Not because I'm grumpy, but because I think grumpy furries look hilarious xP)
And this particular artist (Xeshaire) always manage to pull those things off so well<3

Don't get me wrong, it's really cool work! But it's not me.

My hair isn't black, and my face and neck aren't that scrawny/masculine. And, besides that, I'd never stand or grin like that, and wear a onesie with the baggy crotch thing going on.

As strange as it sounds, I only use my crocodile onesie for tactical purposes. Having a onesie like this would be a complete disaster in the field...

But yeah, it's mostly my own fault due to not communicating well enough with the artist. Can't blame him... Just, a shame I don't even have a reference...

I don't wanna BSUAB, but yeap, Xeshaire is deffinetly doing a fine job, and Cz is just kewl...

But yeah, I know the feel.
Sometimes things don't really turn out exactly as planned, which is really annoying >->' (I've got a few arts like that as well)
Tho without a proper ref it's kinda hard to really get your ideas across.
You never got any WIPs? That'd have been a good opportunity to point out things.
Artist show them for a reason, and usually won't crawl through screen to murder you if you request changes.


You haven't thought of doing a/having a temporary ref done?
Like, on one of those free-to-use bases. I've done that a few times, and even if they aren't always the best representations due to limited shapes, it's always possible to add notes to it with corrections/clarifications.
And at the very least, it's still a step up from only a mostly text-based ref.
