A girl I know from martial arts has a pet python, and a small pet gecko. They're both super adorable!
If you really want to have a reptile pet, I'd have to say that I'd think a little lizard to be a hell of a lot more fun than a dangernoodle...
She happened to show me both when I was casually visiting her home after training, and the little gecko was first of all a lot more active, and also easier to handle. Said gecko actually really seemed to like me, and just spend some time walking around over my arms and sweater, and even allowed me to pet him and give him little rubs on his tiny little belly!
Meanwhile, the python was just lying around, not really doing anything much... Even when she picked the python up, it didn't really seem like much more than a live scarf, at the time.... :\
Oh, and then there's also
this. I don't know how much, if any, of this is true, but it's rather scary nontheless...
And, incase you want to get a bigger lizard, like a monitor. Please do be aware that you're gonna have to feed 'em rats...
I'm not one to normally question "natures ways" but seeing a rat being held in a death-crush bite around it's neck, before being battered around untill soo much of its bones were broken that it was unable to move, followed by what I'd really swear to be sound of its skull being crushed, prior to it being swallowed whole, kinda did make me wonder if that isn't too much of an excessively cruel pet to own... :I
Even with you, having admittedly commited several pokemon genocides, and, at heart, quite enjoyed the suffering of poor little Isaac, I'd still be rather surprised if you managed to sleep well, after feeding one of those monitors...
Damn, those things are brutal...
