Skipping protective gear and safety precautions.





I know I'm a bit lazy with wearing gloves, but the one thing I know I'll never skip wearing a face mask for ever again is when grinding or or otherwise dealing with soap dust/flakes.
I know our teacher warned us about the dye pigment powder getting everywhere and being unhealthy to breathe in and that's why you're only allowed to open and mix that in the fume hood. While also wearing a face mask.


The soap and grating iron is just innocently laying there on a shelf in the opposite end of the room, no special warnings attached. But if you accidentally breathe it in when grinding more, it's pure agony.

I do belive that even with all the precausions and protective gear on, you're still kinda screwed when it comes to be on the lookout for spoopy skeletons! However, for our luck the skeletons are not quite active at the moment, but we're nearing the dreaded Halloween that's only few weeks away! So I urge everyone to look sharp when outside for any skeleton activity, as you might all very well know how much they despise us the living and don't take it kindly to watch us meaty fleshbags walking around!

NOONE WARNED ME ABOUT THE SOAP DUST!!!!


And my mask was still my bag...
In another room....
Would probably have taken a full minute to go fetch it...
And I just needed a tiiiny pinch of soap...
So I figured "maybe it's ok to skip it, it's only soap after all"


It's been a long while since I've been that wrong in my life... >->


I guess they intentionally skip warning about it to teach people the importance of all the "Always wear your stuff in the dyeing lab", which people honestly do seem to take pretty casually.
Even seemingly harmless things can be pretty bad even if it's not immediatly obvious.




And I'm not afraid of Halloween.
The thing that scare me is the fact that pretty much as soon as all the spooky things are put away in stores and stuff, the Christmas crap starts to come out!
AND IT'S NOT EVEN DECEMBER!!!! D:<

When I was younger and was studying to become a dental technician, I remember the health hazards included in the field like acrylic dust that kept flying everywhere when I had to use a tool to make acrylic molds for the upcoming prosthesis that would go out for the head technician to make the actual final product! I had to use the breathing cover all the time and while there were a glass cover shielding me from the flying dust, it was still needed nevertheless!


Yeah, christmas is like a hog that consumes everything around it and leaves nothing for Halloween to enjoy once it's over! C'mon really! Halloween needs more love and we don't need to start having christmas merchandize and music be shoved down out throats immediately at october! Also, even if the Christmas is already over, it loves to linger around all the way till february or even longer!

We don't even do halloween in the NL...
We've got our own version called "Saint Maarten", where kids hand-craft some lanterns and go house to house to sing songs for candies.

And, I guess I can consider myself lucky that I don't work in a sector where I have to deal with harmfull chemicals.

I will, however, be working on a day to day basis with a completely undetectable force that can kill, burn, or even evaporate me, without any prior warning, if I get exposed to it.... :\

Also found mystery ice cream in the freezer.
No idea how long it's been there, but it didn't try to bite me when I took it out, so I'm going to assume it's fine.
