Kinda hard to do things when you're almost 200km away from where the purchase is happening, it's a model you're not quite familiar with, it's a matter of "I'm here now, they sell one of these, do you want it or not?", all you have to judge the condition on is a few photos that don't really show all the bits and pieces, and you've got school in less than 10 minutes and really need to get going. (Or well, even if I didn't have school, it wouldn't be fair of me to ask someone to loiter around at a flea market for five hours while I'm trying to make up my mind about stuff).
Sure, I could have said "let me think about it and I'll let you know tomorrow", but who knows if it would still have been there by then? Better strike when the opportunity is there and hope for the best since you never know if or when you'll see something like this again.
It was only 10€ after all, and I got it as a gift, so if it doesn't work or require expensive parts/repairs, nothing's really been lost as far as I'm concerned. I've got the core thing, and any expensive parts I can save up for or wish for my birthday/Christmas/whatever.
For now, I know it's going to run me at least 30€ for two confirmed missing pieces, then possibly another 50€ for some other (albeit more optional/less critical) piece, and then probably an additional 50€ for all the smaller tools that from my understanding also were missing.
