dog tag as in the metal necklace thingy members of the military wears which displays name,rank, blood type etc etc...

but yeah, my guy taped them together and made brass knuckles o-o

It would require a lot of work to make brass knuckles out of dog tags, I mean you'd have to be heating the metal up and melding it into a shape, and there is actually a justification for the name brass knuckles. It is a generalized term to refer to any sort of metallic or often plastic gear that goes on your fingers to aid in punching causing a severe damage increase, which is why they are banned in many places since they have no practical purpose. But they make great paperweights

30 dog tags together = brass knuckles which do more damage than actual brass knuckles

and yet you cant repair a combat knife with a regular knife

i never managed that quest

no matter what level you are, unarmed versus deathclaws is never a good plan

or energy weapons, although i have yet to try a gauss rifle on a deathclaw o-o

Try the Archimedes II and the incinerator, when you go in, make sure you hug the left cliffside wall and take your time, shoot the deathclaws slowly with your incinerator blasts, it will slowly kill them guaranteed.

is burn damage effected by damage threshold?

also i may just use the mantis gauntlet, it negates all defense bonuses, so it makes deathclaws into powder gangers in terms of defense ^^

I'm not sure to be honest, but I know that over time the incinerator will take care of anything. However I have run into glitches in the game where sometimes it causes deathclaws to literally be impervious to fire and/or certain types of ammo or guns. *Pokes at the rolling cagon*
