Because I always believed it to be "your" in the context to which you are referring.

You are wrong because the phrase is "You are welcome". "Your" is possessive, and saying "your welcome" is like stating that you own a welcome, which you do not. Also, if I said "Your welcome.", it would be a sentence fragment.

The only thing I did not correct is "but" at the beginning of the third sentence. It is a conjunction and should not be placed at the beginning, but since I often make the same mistake I am letting it slide. XD
