Well, being a fox I can only tell you what the fox says, but my understanding is burr is a metasyntactic variable suitable for any burr related uses.. Like Smurf or Yiff.

It's a corruption of "bear", but I also use it as a sound, referring to the sound of a bear purr (example: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sW6NdfIJJlQ )

Despite popular belief, I did not replace the "p" with "b" for bear. It actually sounds like it's going "burrrr" to me. XD
