Wow, that's bs...

More big doctors scary words. Just what we need...

I know, I'm not an expert on the matter, but with all the talking and research and [REDACTED] going on around the whole thing, I'm quite shure that at least half of that [REDACTED] is talked into them...

Nah, they're static and therefore not bound by the laws of physics. :P
It's my own fault for not paying attention when placing them.

But with the camera controls being what they are in the CK, noone can really blame me. >->

Whenever I try to play Skyrim, I get the urge to mess around with the creation kit. Then while doing that I realize how annoying the controls are and want to go back to playing Skyrim. So I end up falling into a loop of dissatisfaction until I just sit there staring into space.

Change Skyrim to Super Smash Bros. Brawl and the creation kit to Coin Launcher and you have my life for the last four months.

I kinda have that issue too, but I've just kept going anyway.
Finished up a medium-sized custom house interior earlier (took me some 50 hours), but then I realized that the CK doesn't really come with any pieces for building custom -exteriors-
I'd have to learn how to Blender again.
THAT is true death.

House is still useable tho, but the exterior doesn't match the interior, which annoys me.

*Goes back and builds a better house in the Dwemer style. This way, I could just slap a door to a mountainside and call it a day.*

There's a Skyrim mod I wanted to make that was pretty ambitious. It was basically a neutral faction of vampires and werewolves who just want to live life and defend their home. It was supposed to have a secret underground city similar to Blackreach and have a number of quest, new weapons/armor/items, followers, a purchasable house. Really, I could still make it, but one of the things that kinda ruins it is the need for voice acting. Mods without voice acting take me out of it, and mods with voice acting that doesn't fit the official (or is straight-up bad) even more so. And since characters would be an important part of the mod, I really don't want to do it if I can't do it right.

There's another less ambitious mod I have in mind. Basically just rebuilding ruined buildings and forts, moving into rebuilt houses or selling/giving them to NPCs for various rewards. But I've been focusing more on other things so never spent the time to mess with it.
I may never actually do it because naturally it should be built with Special Edition in mind, but none of my computers can run it; one is too weak and the other can't support the resolutions.

This maybe a bit of a longer stretch than you'd like, but can't you swing it around to, instead of a peacefull vampire civilisation, you make it a dead vampire civilisation, inhabited by their ghosts?

This may be a cold cliche, but ghosts don't need voice acting!

^I'm currently being followed around by a ghost in-game, and she's quite the chatty lady.

Tho I suppose that because ghosts have all these echo-y effects on top of their voice, you could get away with slightly lower-quality recordings as they're going to get weirdly distorted anyway.
It wouldn't really be the same tho, as I agree that mods with really good voice acting are a real treat. I absolutely love my heckin' lizard fren (and several other Interesting NPCS-followers/characters, but especially this particular guy) for that reason. His voice is pure gold.

Besides, vampires can't become ghosts in the TES-universe, because when they die, their souls are inevitably and unavoidably claimed by the creator of vampirism, Molag Bal.

But shurely, they can rebel against that, right?

I mean, since they've gone trough the whole trouble of starting a new civilisation that strafes to peacefully lives paralel amongst all others, they're not exactly one with the curve, right?

So, it wouldn't be super far-fetched to think that some of them got their hands on a save function and ended that, right?

"As brighter grows light, darker becomes shadow. So it passed that the Daedra Molag Bal looked on Arkay and thought the Aedra prideful of his dominion o’er the death of man and mer, and it was sooth.

Bal, whose sphere is the wanton oppression and entrapment of mortal souls, sought to thwart Arkay, who knew that not man, nor mer, nor beastfolk of all Nirn could escape eventual death. The Aedra was doubtless of his sphere, and so Molag Bal set upon Nirn to best death.

------

And so Lamae, (who is known to us as blood-matron) imprecated her foul aspect upon the folk of Tamriel, and begat a brood of countless abominations, from which came the vampires, most cunning of the night-horrors. And so was the scourge of undeath wrought upon Tamriel, cruelly mocking Arkay’s rhythm of life and death through all the coming eras of the et’Ada, and for all his sadness, Arkay knew this could not be undone."

Probably not. Especially not given Bal's spheres of influence. Vampires are thought to go to Coldharbour (Bal's realm of Oblivion) when they die, and that's final.
That said, vampires -can- be neutral/good, you even meet a few in the game(s), but for the most part, since vampirism is technically a disease, it heavily affects the brains and minds of the infected too, and many go more or less "feral" because of it, especially if they can't feed often enough and/or their strain isn't "pure" enough.
Vampires with a steady supply of blood to feed on can remain more or less sane, but that'd require some sort of human cattle set-up, or humans volunteering to feed them for some reason or another.

Since most regular mortals aren't too happy with living around vampires because of how they are a "creation" of the Daedra (who are usually considered evil by most), it's pretty hard for vampires to get accepted into society when most major religions preach that all manners of undead are abominations (which includes vampires), but I could see an out-of-the-way settlement somewhere close to a heavy-conflict area/otherwise dangerous environment offering to feed a bunch of vampires in exchange for them protecting the village, or otherwise having high thoughts of vampires for some reason or another.

Wait a second. So, vampires aren't "supernatural" creatures too? Or is it really just a viral infection caused by the daedra?
