I did the same thing but it was because I was holding the sticks wrong, because I had end touching my middle finger. :p I just tore it open though... o.o

Oh, okay. :3 How many's a few years anyway? I've not really played long, I'd say about 3 weeks in total excluding the breaks I had from the kit...

Woah, very nice! A good way to prevent blisters is to in a sense hold each stick like you're pinching them. It prevents blisters, improves rolls, and stamina in using wrists. ;)

I just got a double-kick and I think it's the same kind you got, except mine may have been more expensive unless yours didn't come in a bumdle. :P
This shall pass... Megalomania... Congratulations on mutilation for life.

UPDATE: Almost done with the mask!! Furred it all but the eye area, just gotta get to that and details like the nose and teeth. Now writing for new album!

Haha, I really wish I could somehow demonstrate the hold I'm explaining with the drumsticks, but with how it is, you can let it bounce onto the head and then adding that to pressure you can get a good roll in. ;)

Well it's really the problem with speed. I'm not sure what the BPM count is for it, but I've tried the "start slow, speed it up" exercise and I could get a roll of (I'm guessing here) 600 BPM in. But I have to get all tensed up to do it, and I seem to lose grip of the sticks more... o.o

Well if it's a matter of dropping the sticks it's one of two things - You're tensing your arm or your fingers. The fingers are there to hold the sticks, not you just have to use your wrists. Wrists are the key, really. Sometimes I use my arms to make the roll sound more solid, but not to make it all muscle, just movement. The snare is a bouncy drum (haha) so how I learned excercise-wise was I let it bounce on the drum, almost dropping that end of the stick onto it. Then adding a bit of pressure every time you let it bounce, It should make a more rapid timing with the bounces. That's the best I can explain it, really. I hope it helps. :)
