Openly furry?

I'm somewhat curious how many are pretty open about being a furry and how many are not. Also, what are some of the reasons you are or are not?

No I'm not open about. Where I live it would be considered like over the top weird. Plus my dad already made fun of some people who were wearing tails on my campus, so I could only imagine what he would think if I told him I was into it (furries).

She thought it was like only porn at first lol, because of that CSI episode years ago. But it explained it to her, and she was cool with it. She was more worried about the strangers part  and really? thats good, none of my irl friends know

Some people in my life know. Most don't. I only tell those where it would make sense to or where I would either have something to gain or in the rare instances where it would bring me closer to somebody.

I find that using discretion when telling others is generally a good thing. For me, at any rate.

I don't care what people think, I am open about being a furry. I think it's sad that people literally have to sit someone down and say "There's no easy way to say this but... I'm a furry." It just sounds silly to me. It's like people who come out, and things like that. It's just sad, I wish people were able to just be themselves without jerks making fun of them and them having to worry. Grrrr!!!!

I told one friend, by accident, and,he didn't understand it at the time, so he told some other people, who still don't understand., But no, i'm not open about it to other people.

I'm openly furry to people who I'm close to, others that aren't as close; or I don't know all that much, don't know at all. But for those who do know I told them right away and asked if they wanted to see my fursona, I'm open with this due to self-expression. For those who don't know I keep it from them for fear of judgment.

Open furry to three of my friends, and my mom and dad know. My mom is okay with it because she actually worked with a man who was a furry, and my dad thinks it's weird but as long as I don't do anything sexual with it he doesn't care.

My stepbro knows, and my sister is suspecting.
I'm scared to tell my sister because of how she treats bronies.

Nope. I don't see no reason to tell anybody, it's only risk for me without any real benefit. Though I'm not the most hardcore furry out there.
