Openly furry?

I'm open to those who understand or kind of get what it is, and say "Yeah, that's one of my interests".
But not to those who don't, I hate trying to explain something that is to complex for me to even start explaining.
Open to other furs from other countries, but not from France. I have met too many weirdos in the french furry fandom.

Eh, not really. Its not like I explicitly hide it- if someone mentions furries, I'll be like "Yeah, I used to be really into that" but I'm not furry to the extent that I feel the need to be showy about it. My family knows about it, my mom supported it in subtle ways (When we were at a festival, she pointed out a stand that was selling tails) and I have a couple tails (But they're more because of my interest in taxidermy than anything.)

However I would like to cosplay as one of my character sometime, the one in my icon. He's a chimeria with a red mane.

TBH I'm perfectly fine with people not knowing, it's not like I'll tell them and they wake up the next morning thinking 'oh yeah, she's a furry'.


However my friend plans to get me a collar for Christmas, and if anyone asks about it, I'll just say I like wearing it. I mean if it's socially acceptable for guys to sag their pants and for girls to show almost all of their cleavage, why can't I wear a collar or a tail?

Nah. I'm not open to anyone about it. I mean... My one friend found out on his own and always teases me about it, but of course it's playful. I won't tell people about it unless they find out on their own, which is rare. As for my parents knowing? My mom has an inkling and actually kind of encourages it cause she's one to "go against the system" and anything that isn't considered socially acceptable, she wants her children to do

I'm generally open about it. I don't go around saying "IM A FURRY LOOKIT" because that's more than a little dumb. I just draw and write about anthropomorphic creatures and enjoy cartoons and such with them, and if someone takes note, they take note. I do avoid using the term "furry" at first, of course, due to the knee-jerk reaction people have with it (for obvious and understandable reasons). As I am interested in anthropomorphic animals as purely a creative product rather than a sexual one, it's upsetting when people assume I'm a yiffer right off the bat.

im open with my friends, mostly because it winds my best mate up alot for some reason. but my family dont know and i'm building a fursuit head at the minute but ill probably just lie about why i made that  , it's not that i'm ashamed about it, it's more the fact i'd have to explain what it is and my family are really really judgmental. there kinda like the dursleys from harry potter at times

I don't go about advertising I'm a furry but if someone finds out that's fine. My parents know sorta what a furry is and they know that i like those kind of things same with my bro and all my best friends. But again they to don't really know what a furry is besides one of them but he's totally cool about it.

My best friends know. At first they had wed reactions, but when I explained the truth to them they became furries  it wasn't hard because one was already half a furry, a the other two expected me to be interested in such a thing. Though the other on freaked out, because of the way the smosh movie depicted furries, but when I told her the truth she liked the idea and made a fursona based off sly cooper.

i think that goes for everything though Senpai, when i was at college we were friends with a couple who would go into graphic detail about their relationship (i think thats the best way to word it) just made us all feel uncomfortable
