I agree with Billy, it's not really somewhere I'd call home... But I do like the city in its own little way. Artistic, colorful, killer architecture in the older sections of the city and tons of stuff to do. Good eats, too. There are lots of good people, but plenty of snobs, impatient douches and well... Douches. But I will say it's a mostly friendly population.
I've lived in Vancouver, Washington for almost a whole decade. It's a town just across the river from Portland, and I have plenty of friends in Portland to visit. Honestly, if you have any specific questions, I can answer them as well.
