Suddenly, from a small wooded area outside of the town, large face-covered balls fell from the sky, screaming in pain. They slammed into the earth, and began to pour a brackish, purple smoke, enveloping the area.

Zephyr quickly pulled out a gas mask and slapped it over his face.

[Rayleonarde]

Ray covered his face with a piece of fabric, torn from his shirt, and ran towards the edge of town.


The gas wasn't toxic, but it would cause any demons held within the mortal vessel would lose control of themselves, slowly.

[Tina]

(Does this gas affect other outsiders like Maylien?)

[Tempest (Red Panda)]

Tempest shuddered and felt her demon partner inside her get nervous. She told him that she trusted him and slipped the charm off. Her fur once again turning blue, he looked at the gas and dug in his bag, grabbing a half face mask that worked as a gas mask. He narrowed his eyes and payed his ears back. "What the hell is that?"

((I guess? Dunno how Outsider's work.))

[Tina]

(We'll Maylien's relation to demons is that they are from the same plane of existence and that she is a more primitive version of a demon. Demons were an evolution of quilpoths that grew in power due to the rise of the demons lords. These two groups of outsiders are basically related, but whether or not the gas would affect a quilpoths is up to you.)

[The Past]

((I'm still in this too (page 7), just been waiting for the group to head back))

Geoffrey slumped in a chair in the Demon Catchers lobby. He sipped on his coffee and huffed with boredom, but he was still in a good mood. He had some experience with this sort of job, though not exclusively with demons, but with other paranormal entities and criminal mages.

Though it was pretty weird how they had the place all decked out with lights and crosses. His previous location wasn't so showy about it. It seemed a bit silly to him, but that's just how they did it here, he supposed.

Ronnie approached Geoffrey, and smiled. "New face?" He chuckled, and sat down beside Geoff. "New to the game?"

[The Past]

Geoff looked up. "Oh hey, uh, no--well, eh, kinda. Was an arcane investigator, back in Illinois, just a minor branch off the big clan there. Tracked down ghosts, demons, criminal mages, anything mixed up in the paranormal pile. Er, my job was mainly the investigation part, though I'd been trained to fight and capture if needed, and I had my share of those times."

"So, uh," he smiled somewhat nervously. "this will be my first job where combat's the main thing."

[Rayleonarde]

Ronnie smiled, and sniffed. "You ain't a demon yourself, are you?"

[Cifero Windtail]

Zephyr scooped up Tempest and Maylien and ran after Ray. "ANGDER COME ON!" he yelled out. He was unaffected by the gas because of his gas mask.

[The Past]

Geoff shook his head. "No. Just a normal mortal," he told Ronnie, "I'm spirit-sensitive, though."
