What does everyone here do for a living? If you're unemployed, how are your expenses paid? Should be interesting to see how people get by in today's job market.

I work as a processor in an accounting office, pretty much just data entry. We take the checks from customers and apply it to the invoices on their account. I enjoy it for the most part, just sit and enter stuff while listening to music or comedy stuff on my ipod.     I'm interested to know what other people do, too.

I'm a dog walker. Though I may be looking for a second job soon because my paycheck is fluctuating too much for me to be comfortable with. I used to work at a kennel/dog daycare, which is what I'd still like to do, if not be a vet tech.

I'm a Senior Developer. I work primarily on web based systems. Got some things in the healthcare field, agriculture, etc.

I'm the Technical Director of Events at my local school, basically in charge of making sure any and all events run smoothly. It started off as just doing lighting and sound work, but now it's evolved to basically managing events on the day they occur. This is a per-job position. I only get paid a flat rate per event, and not for the planning or any sort of rehearsal time.

My "hourly" work is as a food server at the school, which involves food prep, serving, inventory, as well as menu planning. This is my actual main "for wage" work at the school, so I get a stable bi-weekly check.

I'm also a "Custodial Helper." Basically during the school year, especially during the summer, I go in an do a lot of personal projects that involve specialized care of one to two people, as opposed to the entire custodial staff crew.

And on the side I still do "under the table" work when it comes to computers, electronics, maintenance, etc. Which is the least "stable" job in terms of payment, but it makes for good pocket change.

I work as a supervisor at a group home. The company I work for focuses on teaching skills to the individuals we serve so they can be as independent as possible. It's not the best paying job but it has its rewards.

I love it a ton but I want to move up to manager if I can. Hopefully some day I want to get into art as a cartoonist

i'm still a minor, so for the most part, i don't have to worry about paychecks and wages.
during the summers i travel and work with a carnival! it pays alright, and it is fun (most of the time).
during the school year, i can only really do freelance art and hope it gets me some pocket change.

Full time college student here, though I am considering applying for a job as a CA, for a monthly stipend of $400 dollars and paid room and board.

I've actually been thinking of this today. I'm still a minor, but am studying independently and with programs at Johns Hopkins university (they've got programs for kids my age to take college courses) to ----hopefully---- go into the neuroscience/psychology field in the future. Currently, I have a job at a little Irish shop in my town (ha, it started as a joke, since I was born in Ireland and then moved to the states.) Pretty funny first job, don't you think? 


I bet there's a lot of good stories out there about this topic

I'm still a student so most of my bills are paid for me but I do some work. I work part time as a library page. It's a fun job actually, I get to sort books, organize events for the kids, I also paint scenes and props for other events at the library. Probably going to be doing a mural soon as well, it's not a lot of hours though and is only minimum wage.

I also am a tutor currently. I used to do more but now I'm only teaching one kid, but it pays well compared to the library.

Then during the summer I work at a arts and writing camp. I watch the kids and make sure none of them get lost. They're a lot of trouble and there's a lot of them. I also do certain things the kids can't do like hot glue stuff, also cutting out pieces for crafts in advance and just helping here and there.

I'm actually training to be an EMT currently as well as starting an internship at an eye doctor where I'll be trained to use the machines. I'm kind of hoping those things might lead to a paying job in the future.

Though I'm only an intern I'm actually in charge of a project so it's a bit stressful.

I'm a landscaper. I do stuff like lay slabs, erect fences, tarring. That sorta thing. I am looking though to get either a 360° excavator or a telehandler license but those courses are expensive!
