I've played DayZ a long time ago, one time, I was full life, fully hydrated and nourished, but My leg was broken after a bad fall. I then tried to find bandages and fell down in a spot where I couldn't get out. It was about 23:00, no zombies or players around. So I waited, then went to sleep.
When I waked up, I was still alive

During 1983 a Soviet early detection system for nuclear attacks reported a potential strike inbound from America, in the confusion that followed the Soviets were poised to make a retaliatory strike, everything was in order to fire back but one of the two officers required to engage the counterattack refused for whatever reason. In the end the incoming attack did not happen and it was later found that the system had malfunctioned. If the soviets had launched a strike nuclear war would likely have followed, thanks to one individual this was averted. (This is off the top of my head so names and some details may be slightly off but the even did occur, scary thought  )
